  1. I’m glad the FO is at least competent to know that vying for a play-in spot will get us nowhere. This team looks dead out there and best thing is to keep our pick and build from there

  2. pot8odragon

There’s a super slim chance to even make the play in at this point. Just lose and keep the pick

  3. AlecarMagna

Time to go 4-0 in the Hardy/Green era and lose the pick.

  4. Irregardless01

I still want Luka to at least get the scoring title, despite our extreme mediocrity

  5. EDIT: Shams later claims that his sources tell him Mavs are seriously considering this. So this is not only an opinion, but rumor.

  6. ABoyIsNo1

They shouldn’t have played both nights of a back-to-back tbh

Seems to have not mattered though. Maybe play one more together then call it?

I bet they are waiting for the OKC-Warriors outcome today. If OKC win then you shut them down.

Should’ve been done when Luka was hurt and Kyrie had his plantar fasciitis anyway. This is the epitome of a lost season. There’s no sense in putting useless miles on either of them and risking injury

  9. BEzNuts21

Why would you do that when there’s hope for playoffs? Absolutely stupid idea. They ain’t getting Wembayana! shams is a dummy.

  10. BmoreDude92

Resign kyrie, and wood. Fire Kidd and that would be a good start.

The irony is if they shut them down, Green and Hardy will randomly have great games and they win all three to make the play-in. Then the moment they come back they go back to playing like garbage.

  12. Jack_Bryant

Keeping our pick or not may well be a turning point in the history of this franchise.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re waiting to see if OKC wins at GSW tomorrow night. I doubt they win but if they do, it’s almost certainly over as the Mavs would then need to go 3-0 to close out while OKC would need to lose to the Jazz and Grizzlies (latter of which is probably going to rest their guys).

If OKC loses tomorrow, then a Mavs win on Wednesday against the Kings (before you roll your eyes, Kings may rest their guys especially bc they’ll be on second night of a back to back) gives us the same record as OKC.

We’d then need OKC either split or lose both their final two games. If they split, we’d need win out against Bulls and Spurs to sneak in. If OKC lost both, we’d only need to beat the Spurs.

Is it unlikely the Mavs make it over OKC? Yeah, but not like crazy odds. Barring an OKC win tomorrow night, it’ll be a weird final 2-3 games with good opponents sitting their guys. Who knows what’ll happen

Shut them all down. It’s Ntilikina Season

  15. DCJustSomeone

Good thing I didn’t buy tickets to the bulls game.

  16. Tootsiez

If the goal is to contend quicker then shut them down. Keeping a top 10 pick is a must have.

I was not on team tank maybe two weeks ago.

Unfortunately the reality is that it actually benefits us to tank these last three games, as the benefits we potentially get in the draft could reverberate throughout the organization for years to come.

Live to fight another day and drill the absolute **fuck** out of defense and rebounding in the offseason plz LOL

what a shitty follow up to going to the WCF

RIP 🐐. He’d never let this blatant tanking slide

  20. mavericksnipe

No need to shut them down when we organically tank being our shitty selves. I mean they were incredible against the Heat and THJ had arguably his best game of the season and we lost to the Heat without Bam.

  21. FleeceKelly

Completely random but I just saw Dinwiddie leaving the Nets training center lol

  22. blakxzep

Anyone who blames roster just know Carlisle took a Mike James led Mavs to go 7 games with the finals champs Spurs that year.
