Fox made a huge jump this year. It wasnāt always clear that Fox was the guy. Itās crazy how fast people start making these videos š when they never watch a kings game
Deāaaron is a better 2 way guard than Tyrese right now and itās not close. Most teams (including the Pacers) donāt put their PG on Deāaaron because itās over if they do. Deāaaron is stepping up now and guarding the best guards in the most pivotal moments.
Idk why the trade was Tyrese was so damn shocking. Heās a great player but two guards with similar play styles cannot co exist. Fox is signed for the next 5 years. Tyrese wasnt. And we got Sabonis in return. A worse version of jokic. The big and small combo has worked for decades.
Fox's speed is something unmatched and also his clutch performance. You just cant replicate it and it does result in more wins

Tyrese hasnāt played as much and fox is way more clutch then tyrese, kings win this trade and kings wouldnāt be the 3rd seed with tyrese

Fox was always him. He just never had any help.
I liked this video but there is no need for the sloppily rough estimates. You can say 16 seasons instead of "around 20 years." As someone who was rooting for Kings 20 years ago when had the best record in the league, and ten years before that when they didn't, I think Fox was the great choice. The winning record is the evidence.
It's impossible to know what this exact same Roster and Coach would have looked like with Tyrese instead of Fox, but it's safe to assume Tyrese wouldn't be leading the League in Clutch, destroying the competition. That's resulted in at least 5 extra wins and probably more like 10+ extra wins. And it's not just the Game winning shots. It's the 4th Quarter and Overtime domination in general. The fact is that there just aren't very many players that can change the outcome of a game in the last few minutes. And Fox hadn't done enough of that in the past. But with the new spacing, he's just been an animal in close games. A wild animal. Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, James Harden . . . De' Aaron Fox? That's how good he's been. An absolute game changing presence in the clutch.
They believed in De'aaron, absolutely. But the trade? Worked with a rookie salary schedule. That is it, the Kings had two franchise guards and needed an all star center. Fox did not fit that trade.
Another reason people forget: Buddy Hield, while a great 3 PT and free throw shooter, is an albatross on defense and was horrible at everything else. Also, he was not a great teammate either
You canāt compare . Tyrese is a floor general , fox is a scoring guard . Only thing that separates would be level of impact to the game . Fox is winning rn so heās better . But if tyrese gets better pieces that fit heāll be a problem

Under no circumstances would Halliburton be a better fit with Sabonis than Fox. If you wanted Sabonis than Fox is who u would want next to him. Sabonis is best used as a Hub. Imo Halliburton can only be used as a ball dominant passing Point Guard, a terrible fit for Sabonis. It was never a question who they were gonna trade which is why Fox sat out almost 3 weeks with a "Injury". Monte was show casing Halliburton. And Fox was miraculously healed right after the trade. And on a personal note at no point was Halliburton as good as Fox and at no point will he ever be as good as Fox
Monte McNair was in the 2nd to last year of his contract when he traded Tyrese. He knew he was getting fired if the team didnāt start winning. He moved Tyrese rather than Dāaaron because fox was already ready to win now and not a sophomore player. Also donāt just praise fox like heās doing everything. The team added 2 shooters in monk/Heurter an all star in sabonis. They also drafted a ROY candidate who has the most 3ās as a rookie in Keegan. Tell the whole story. Fox isnāt carrying this team by himself. Tyrese will go on to be a better player. I live in sac btw.
The Kings actually attempted to trade Fox, which is why he didnāt play the previous game or two prior to Sabonisā debut since he thought he was gonna get traded. The FO wanted to keep Tyrese, but no one was willing to pay Fox with the was he was playing at the time. Sabonis was the most realistic all star player they can get so they offered Fox but the Pacers declined and asked for Tyrese. The Kings FO accepted the trade since giving up Tyrese was the only way they can get an all star player.

maybe fox is more reliable in terms of being healthy.. but in performance fox is great but tyrese is building up to be the next HOF guard.. i think tyrese is much much better if he gets healthy next season. but on where the sacramento is ryt now is the most important thing being on the playoffs again for so long.
