The Mavs should shut them down. There's actually a small chance that we can get the 9th pick (Jazz would have to win 2 and we would have to lose all 3) which would really give us a buffer protecting us from losing our pick.

About keeping Luka happy. The way to do it is winning, not asking him what he wants.
You were talking a few days back he might not want to be hard coached. If the Mavs don’t coach him, the Mavs are losing him. IMO it shouldn’t matter what he wants, that makes the Mavs a weaker team and not deserving of him.
This is the break it or not season for the mavs, if they lose kyrie without S&T and knicks get pick 11-14, Luka is probably not a mav the next season ordeal
Luka played Brunson very well, and Irving can play a similar role. Irving played Lebron very well, and Luka can play a similar role. They need a good coach to make plays for them.
You have to complement them with a lot of good defensive players, especially rebounders and blockers, and good outside shooters.
Irving's trade has given Dallas the second star it was looking for, but it has lost balance and defense. This summer they have a lot of work to do.
