  1. I loved watching that team, man. It had me thinking we could go all the way! But Lebron was in his prime so that wasn't possible 😂

  2. As a Celtics fan I remember them hawks dragging series out so long, them and the bulls were almost more scary than facing Bron 2012-2015ish

  3. LeBron didn't get his due he destroyed the EAST for 4yrs during this era ! pundits didn't want to give Ty Lue the Credit, Bud won Coach of the year , Toronto use LeBron dominance for a reason to fire Dewayne Casey when no one in the east could beat him, if ty Lue wasn't the reason for Cleveland success then LeBron was Coach and player of the EAST for 4 straight yrs.

  4. That Hawks team was legit just All NBA First Team Role Players lol. They were all the solid role players you found on championship teams. None of them were special, but all very solid. Not an insult.

  5. That team had a lot of “guys” but Cleveland had The “Guy” and it showed

  6. Listen team ball great & all you need it, but you need superstars 💯 a team of role player or even All-stars like the hawks ain't winning chips

  7. That was a team that didn't have a star/all time greats but preformed well.

No every team that has great team work cab be like '04 Detroit Pistons . And I would agrue that they had more talented players

  8. Y’all need to fire who ever makes y’all thumbnails, y’all did AL wrong

  9. This Hawks team showed that teamwork is special but you better have one dawg when it’s go time or it’s lights out

  10. "Spurs of the East", they were definitely fun to watch. Team basketball can lead you to a great regular season, but the one thing the Spurs always had that the Hawks did not was star power. Robinson, Duncan, Manu, Parker and Kawhi were the difference makers, and they're all star caliber players. Hate to say it, but take Teague, Korver, and maybe Millsap off that Hawks team, and they probably aren't all stars.

  11. That hawks team sucked honestly put the in the league now they’re fighting for a play in Teague was they best player and he was never a top 15 pg

  12. This is the same way that PG talked about that Pacers team he was on that made the WCF. You can tell these guys truly appreciate playing within a cohesive unit. It takes 5 guys with that same mentality for it to be a success but when you find that it results in the most beautiful basketball imo. That’s why the Warriors and Spurs are so special, because they had that team identity AND superstar players.

  13. This team was so fun to watch but then again got demolished by Bron in the playoffs 💀💀💀💀

  14. This team was really good LeBron was rarely the #1 seed after leaving Cleveland the 1st time but you could tell from the start they were pretenders

  15. They needed a superstar on that team. A KD, Carmelo, A Bron….someone who can take over in the clutch

  16. As a Hawks fan it was such a fun team to watch but i wasnt surpised by the outcome in the playoffs the game slows down not having that superstar that could get us buckets in the half court when we couldnt run and gun hurt us!

  17. My favorite team as a hawks fan only if we had a superstar at that forward position to go against bron

  18. I still have the t-shirt from the game 2/3 of that playoff series. I still wear that shirt once a week. I still cant believe the reward for being the 1 seed was drawing lebron in the first round.

  19. I love watching grit on both ends, teamwork, good strategy, good culture. Those Hawks certainly had it but just didn't have enough fire power and 2 way lock down defenders for playoff basketball. What you do well in reg season does not all work in playoffs. Just imagine star forward defended by Korver or teague, and I'm not even referring to LeBron.

  20. That was the Spurs of the East. Too bad, Lebron was at the peak of his power during his reign in the east.

  21. As someone who was a fan of that Hawks team but never considered them a real contender despite rhe hype.

Just goes to show no matter how good the collective is. You still need THAT guy.

I think that starting 5 is probably at least top 10 best starting lineups all time but they don't matter (in the casual eye) because they couldn't slay the giant.

  22. Underappreciated aspect of that team is the advantage they gained by being ahead of the curve on pace, space, and switching. We take it for granted now, but at the time you could gain a huge advantage by having a starting lineup with 5 guys who could shoot, and their entire frontcourt being switchable 1 through 5. Obviously that kind of roster construction is still advantageous today, but the advantage over the rest of the league is far less because it has become commonplace in the decade since that Hawks team. Not saying the Hawks started that movement, just that they were ahead of where the vast majority of the league was in 2014.

  23. Lol that team was first round exit they did all that to get demolished in playoffs im not sure if lebron swept them but I know he was part of the east domination for 8years
