The trade was a terrible idea from the beginning because the Mavs were a 4 seed that needed more defense and another ball handler. Instead of trading for a guy like that they game up most of their defense and some draft picks to get a ball handler/scorer who might walk in the of season. They should regret the trade for those reasons and the fact that the team is so much worse that they'll probably miss the playoffs entirely.
This team construction is bad they should have never let Brunson walk and now they gonna owe a top 10 pick to Knicks if they don’t make playoffs bc of the kristaps trade and now you gonna have to go all in on kyrie or he could walk and you lose everything

You should regret trading for Kyrie before trading for him and then not do the trade at all. What good is a flat-earther, especially one that might stop playing at any moment because of the next conspiracy or other guano-crazy thing that pops into his brain.

The Mavericks currently have the 6th best offense in the league if you go by Offensive Rating. If memory serves they were higher than that before the trade. A guy who scores a lot mean NOTHING. Not unless he is scoring efficiently and creating shots for his teammates. Irving is efficient, but it is not clear whether or not he makes an offense better. My thinking is that he is the kind of guy you go to when offensive sets aren't working. But you've already got that in Luka. Kind of redundant.

The biggest problem is Nico Harrison who didn't trade some inconsistent players for some good rim protector and wing defenders. Nico Harrison was so naive that thought Kyrie will solve all of Dallas's problems. What kind of GM is he at all ??? The second biggest problem was Jason Kidd with his really strange rotations and preferring Powell and Bullock over Wood and McGee. They both have to go as soon as possible.
