[Narsu] Maxey should take like 10 3s a game. Even if it’s not 10, the current 6.2 /game (or 6.6 p36) is definitely not high enough. Over the last 2 years, he’s shooting 39.7% on 297 pull up 3s & 45.3% (!!) on 373 catch & shoot 3s.

Not sure if missed the discussion here or if it was already posted. But if not, there’s being talk of Maxey needing to take a decent bit more 3s recently. Thoughts?

Going from 1.7 attempts to 4.1 to 6.2 is amazing progress. I would like to see him attempts over 8 per game next year. Only 15 players attempted over 8 3s a game this year and Maxey should be one of them next year. Especially since no who has attempted over 6 per game has a better % than Maxey’s 43.6%.
I hate 3pt chucking offenses and even I think Maxey should be taking more. Harris is even worse about it though. This team should be higher than 12th in 3pt % rate with Harden and Embiid’s gravity. Teams rightly leave Tucker wide open to cover the other guys but even with that Tobi and Maxey pass up too many threes.
I love Maxey shooting 3s, but I wonder if it’s harder for him to get his shot off than it is for other guards because of his height and his lower release on his jump shot? It allows for an easier close out from opposing players. That all being said, his increase in volume is amazing. Especially for a guy whose jumper was the question when he was drafted
Winning with 2’s ain’t possible anymore. You gotta just bomb 3s. I swear I like it more when Maxey shoots 3s than 2s.
Only Embiid and Reed should shoot nothing but 2’s.
