That mid range shot in OT was clutch asf

Dude is soo fucking good bro. Let’s the game come to him. Doesn’t matter who’s on the floor, his game adjusts it beautiful to watch

Willing us back into the game with his defense, timely shots, and freethrows

  5. He’s legit a star player. Not a great role player. A legit star. I really do hope the team pays him as such next year. He’s that important. He’s the most consistent player on the team.

He’s been really consistent the last 20 games. He deserves the payday thats coming

Dude was the most consistent player tonight plus he was roughed out there. Loved how he sold those fouls in the paint.

My favourite thing about him and what I think makes him so good is that he gets the team involved in the game. He runs the offense and knows to dump it into AD as a priority. When Rui is on the floor, he forced a few switches onto Rui then dumped it in on a mismatch. He puts the ball in high percentage situations so people can hit easier shots and build their confidence.

Was such a mistake to run ISO’s and not have Reaves touch the ball at all during the final two minutes of the fourth. That can’t happen when Reaves is playing that well. It was just a simple LeBron-AD hand-off every time with LeBron going ISO. Literally allowed the Jazz to go on a run because the Lakers went away from what was working… aka, moving the ball, cuts to the basket, set screens to get others open. Honestly, and people are going to be upset, deferring to Reaves in certain late-game scenarios is a solid idea for the Lakers. He’s capable of getting fouled, attacking the basket, making the right pass, isn’t turnover prone, and has an array of offensive weapons to get a good shot.

I think it’s pretty unanimous that Lauri Markkanen will win Most Improved (and deservingly so) but IMO, Reaves should be up for consideration as well.

People need to wise up to Reaves already. He reminds me a lot of how Jalen Brunson shed the role player narrative real quick

I’ve realized one thing- he’s got the same pace to slow down as James Harden. He bursts, and then immediately slows down to bait for the fouls. It’s impressive.

Austin Reaves is playing like he’s the third leg of a big three!

I wanna see this dudes name in the rafters that’s how much I love him

Role players aren’t known for being consistent.. Reaves is the most consistent non star player I’ve seen in a long long time. Like it’s actually crazy and a big deal how ducking consistent he is as a productive winning player and his insane efficiency too.

Consistency is what separates great players from the mediocre. Reaves is that special and only getting better. Watching him is fresh of breath air, especially when the league is full of guys who just shoot spot up or pull up threes only. He’s actually doing a lot of work inside the 3 line and using a lot of footwork and creativity to fool his defenders.
