[Grange] Don’t be surprised if Jeff Dowtin Jr.’s two-way deal does not get converted. My understanding is we’ll find out Thursday, but Raptors don’t have roster spot & are loathe to cut players they’re committed to so …

    Bro, what??

    > are loathe to cut players they’re committed to

Wtf does this even mean? They cut Svi and Juancho this year. They aren’t even using Wieskamp, he was with the 905 who aren’t even in the G-League playoffs, and has been a garbage time player with us. Dowtin has gotten rotation minutes for several games in a row and clearly is our best backup PG option right now. This makes no sense.

Also, waiting as long as they have is just another way of being cheap. Waiting as long as possible reduces the amount of Dowtin’s pro-rated minimum. They’ve had the space against the tax to do this weeks ago. Waiting until now is purely a money saving move. Not even doing it is a non-sensible decision.

  2. Would be malpractice to not convert him. Just doubling down on the mistake of signing Wieskamp

What players is he referring to that they are “committed to”?

Thank goodness, I was worried he was going to take away from Wieskamp’s hard earned minutes

This fanbase loves to fall in love with mediocre players lol. Downtin is a fringe NBA role player, who would be lucky to stay in the League. He’s just not good enough to be our backup PG

  6. On the bright side, at least we have a whole bunch of serviceable backup PGs, so this shouldn’t matter much.

  7. Imagine debating whether to keep Dowtin or Wieskamp 😂. Trust in Masai though.

” & are loathe to cut players they’re committed to so” and I am loathed to spending my money on a losing team. Looking at you ownership.
