Why Lakers won’t make a run in the West, Warriors back in business at No. 5 seed? | NBA | THE HERD

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a narrow overtime victory against the Utah Jazz and are now officially in the play-in tournament. LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 58 points but logged in heavy minutes. They currently sit at the seventh seed in the West. However, despite winning four games in a row, are the Lakers keen for a big playoff run? Colin Cowherd explains why he is not sold on the purple and gold. The Golden State Warriors came back to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 136-125. Steph Curry and Jordan Poole combined for 64 points as the Warriors now sit at the fifth seed in the West. Colin is all-in on the Warriors and breaks down what makes them legit contenders to run it back.

  1. There is no market for AD a 30 year old frail athlete who can't play 96 minutes of basketball. No team would offer more than a single first round pick for him.

  2. a team 2-20 on the road against 500 teams has a better chance than the lakers?/// yea ok cowturd u also said luka will be a bust

  3. "30 for 30 – From The Punch To The Playoffs" – Genius!

    I made a slight tweek . . . I'll take 10%

  4. LeBron and AD definitely playing today. Colin take is a joke. Lakers haven’t even beat Ty Lue clippers yet 0-10! This the biggest game of the year and the 6th seed is on the line tonight. If the Lakers want to rest the players then win tonight to avoid the play in games. Lakeshow gotta show up tonight!

  5. Super excited finally Colin has dissed lakers. This guy is US version of late great Pele. Don’t let him jinks your team

  6. Warriors keeping wiggins privacy during his absence even they are struggling on the road, respect for that.

  7. But seeding still matters. If you're the 7 or 8 you get two cracks at it. If you're 9 or 10 if you lose the first game it's a wrap and you got to win 2 games out of the last two spots to get in.

  8. Not just the Lakers, it's where the league is now. Never heard the stars of the old days flat out state I can't do my job back to back so I'm just gonna sit this out. They should lose a game check every time they sit when there's no clear injury. Today's NBA is sad.

  9. THIS is the season for the NBA to put an end to the Warriors dynasty. If the Warriors win again, especially back-back, I highly doubt they’ll look this vulnerable next season.

  10. And yet, there's so much talk about how today's NBA player is stronger than players from past. There's more player injuries today than back in the day..

  11. That' s the biggest mistake Mark Cuban has made by getting the championship team dismanteled by letting Tyson Chandler go to the Nicks. He was the necessary anker in their Defense. Was Dirk done with one title?! Looking at the following seasons he played you would have to shout out loud: NO! Of course you would have to trade some pieces but NOT Chandler. Dirk for the offense and Tyson for the Defense is what got them their championship. Yes, of course there were other pieces like the Jet, Kidd, Barrea, Stoyakovic, but all those pieces are replacable. The two integral parts of the championship team were Dirk and Tyson. The rest you can build around them and get title hungry guys. Heck, you might even get some vets who act as go-to-guys in some crucial games. After 2011 surely many players would have loved to join the Mavs! Look at the Warriors: Dray and Steph. Of course Klay left some serious foot prints throughout the championships, but from those 3 players he is the least integral. Look what they have done last night without him (yes, ,very small sample size). And how did they do when Steph and or Dray were out? More often than not, they struggled heavily. You need one guy to run the offense and another to keep your own basket locked down as much as possible.

  12. That play-in stuff is a bunch of junk to me. In MJ's day, you have a losing record you go home. I understand it's all about money. But to me it's like horse shoes: If the shoe lands on the side of the peg, it's not a ringer but almost! Lol.

  13. I think the warriors commitment and loyalty to their players is awesome. Its a very rare thing in sports.

  14. the fact that everyone said Westbrook was the problem , they traded him and the media instantly named them a contender in the west . And it was true

  15. Colins basketball takes are more up n down then my ex wife 1 minute Lakers are a huge threat in the west ..next minute The Lakers have no chance because they can't play back 2 backs .. does someone want to to tell Colin you don't play b2b games in the playoffs ??

  16. The NBA is now like college basketball because no1 cares about the regular season both fans and players, the season starts in the playoffs, I think ive only watched 3 or 4 full NBA games this season but im def watching every single playoff game, finally get to watch the starters play hard

  17. Funny, how a person can spend their entire career doing ONE thing & still be clueless about that very same thing. In his bleak analysis of the Lakers playoff chances takes just 2 players into account & EXCLUDES the 10 players most responsible for their success (since the trade deadline). Conversely, he thinks every other contender can compete for & win a championship without key players available to play & scoff at the very same liabilities that, at the same time, in the same breath he predicts will surely be the Laker's downfall. You can have it both ways if you want, but you can't be right about either. Double standards only work hypothetical terms & even then, they don't work well.

  18. Colin where did you play your basketball at ??????????

  19. 😂😂😂 hates on Bron and turns around and praises the warriors gotta love Colin

  20. I want to see Thompson's long two badge revoked, or whatever the problem is on his anemic inside the arc scoring, I want that badge revoked… Klay took 712 threes and made 290… league leading figures.. he shot .407 on threes.. very efficient…. however.. he only maintains a .572 true shooting %…. that's mediocre… I like Klay.. I think in his glory days he was one of the top 10 or 15 players in the league.. but there are signs that he never really learned how to play offensive basketball other than shooting threes…. He still to this day has the bones of an elite offensive player…. but ruins that with whatever bullspit he's throwing at the rim inside the arc…..
