This loss was the coaches fault.
The lakers are the superior team. The first half of the game they totally got away from what has given them success the last 20 games, Defense!!! The most unsung hero on this team, and the motivation behind the whole team playing urgent defense is âJARED VANDERBILTâ. The coach played him 8 min in the first half. I ask how many points did Leonard have while Vando was on the floor? They were in a 24pt hole and it was vandoâs work and example that overcame that deficit. His tenacious defense is contagious. Look at the plus minus, Vando only had two guys out of both teams with a higher plus minus, they were on the winning team. LBJâs plus minus was -22 at one point and it got down to -9 when Vando came back on the floor. On AD, he struggles against other big centers, thatâs why when playing teams with big centers, Ham should consider playing a center next to AD, to free him from banging with the bigs. He shrinks when thereâs an imposing big on the floor, the lakers need a dominant AD if they hope for a championship this year. Lakers should pickup a center for the last two games. Also another reason the lakers lost is their three point defense was poor. Who is one of the best three point shooting teams in the league? Iâm guessing the clippers are one of the better ones. They went out to a 15-3 at the beginning of the game. The lakers did a better job in the second half though. When you have a juggernaut like AD at the rim the 3pt defenders can cheat. There are three players on this team that should play 30-35min a game. AD,LBJ,JV. To close games the basket becomes smaller so HAM may want to consider the following as a closing lineup for games
AD,LBJ,MO,DR,AR. When getting into a run for a championship, coaching moves will be critical, such as time out to break the other teams run, adjusting lineups on the fly, focusing on tenacious defense, not having lapses in defense, playing Vando as much as the two main players, because his energy and tenacity are contagious and the rest of the team starts to play that way. Involve him in more offense to increase his confidence on that end. Lakers couldâve easily won this game with,3pt defense through the whole game, playing Vando 35min, and LBJ and AD not shrinking for half a game. Turnovers are a momentum killer. Take care of the ball. Anyway I believe this lost is going to be of great benefit to the team going forward. Let the Clippers and Suns beat up on each other, both are injury prone. The lakers when they play 48mins of defense will handle the one game they play in the play down. I do believe the clippers could knockoff the Suns. Just play physical defense on Durant. Let him feel you. Lakers are in great shape. We have to get playoff mode LBJ and AD. Lakers will win a championship this year.
