If we were given LA’s whistle, we’d be a top 3 seed and would’ve won more road games because they wouldn’t call as many fouls on us either.

If LA got our whistle, they would be tanking hard.

Can we understand the context of this stat please. The Lakers may or may not get more foul calls than they deserve. But put it this way the top 3 teams in FT differential this century had Dwight Howard at centre. The Lakers have AD who doesn’t really foul around the rim. And literally all their scoring comes on the interior because they don’t have shooters. AD, Lebron, Russ (gone but not forgotten), Reaves all did their work within 15ft. That’s like 70ppg (15 from Russ then 15 from reaves after russ left) on guys who mostly do their work on the interior. Whereas for us it’s like 70pts from guys who mostly take jumpers.

I ain’t surprised… Laker’s were looking down bad before the trade deadline, and the NBA’s gotta make that playoff money. Bet they’ll help the Mavs pass the Thunder for that 10th play-in spot.

Skip and Shannon (and all the sports media) are also trying to will the narrative that the Lakers will push the Warriors out into the play-in. Anything to guarantee LeGM in the playoffs..

  5. MultiPass21

It wouldn’t be a day ending in *Y* without our sub declaring the Warriors the biggest victims in the NBA.

Still kinda strange how Poole gets a better whistle than Steph. Like they’re on the same team?

  7. System_Lower

It’s actually worse than that. The “push” started around February.

    28 games since February.

    FTs per game 28.8

    Opp FTs per game 18.3

Thats a crazy average disparity. Last time i can remember such was 2013 and you know who – LAKERS – playoff push.

  8. DJSTANKDADDY2

You’re a jump shooting team, your only slashing player has missed half of the season. Steph’s drives usually end with him on the ground, more often because he’s contorted himself into some crazy position to get a clean look than by him getting an aggressive bump. I really don’t think y’all have a leg to stand on here.

  9. RottingCorps

Don’t we lead the league in three point attempts?

  10. grifter356

Lakers have also had the least B2B games, Warriors are tied for most, and Lakers have also played the most games against teams coming off the first night of a B2B, and Warriors are somewhere near the bottom of that list.

  11. Smart_Switch4679

Nah fuck Curry for not flopping. He’s costing his team.

  12. Dope-pope69420

Who will be the more prepared team for the playoffs when the whistles usually tighten up? As long as we make it in we always have a chance to get it done.

After the all-star break, the refs magically ref’d the Lakers differently, they were like 200 more free throws or something at one point than the 2nd most FTs team post-break

  14. thatquizzingguy

totally dumb post that dumb children of this sub are lapping up

we shoot 3s and rarely get to the rim. and lakers have no shooters, have AD Lebron Dennis Reaves who all can slash.

The refs remain unforgivable (particularly when it comes to Steph), but I’m glad we’re taking more action, esp. JP attacking the paint to force the issue.

For reference, we’re tops in 3-pt attempts at 43.1 a game whereas Lakers are #26 at 30.9.

Attack the paint, get to the line.

Steph’s composure is legendary. He sort of accepts that as the 🐐 he doesn’t get the calls. Total BS.

  16. Herbetet

Also we had the most B2B and the Lakers had the least B2B and on top of that they had the most B2B without having to travel. Clear favouritism and we are still balling. Let’s get that full set

The people who believe in santa clause are gonna tell you its because “We dOnT dRiVe!!” And not bias towards one of the most carried franchises of all time. Literally had the mafia rigging games for them.

  18. imrickjamesbioch

I don’t really care about the FT discrepancy. My issue is whenever the Lakers suck, the league seem to find a way to make a trade that makes them immensely better while only giving up a bag of peanuts. Fuck the Lakers!

  19. Spaghettiisgoddog

Part of it is that our vets haven’t been driving in as much in away games, trying to save their body for the playoffs. Vs lakers not being able to shoot for a large part of the season and having no choice but to drive.

  20. I don’t think it has much to do with the refs more about the style of play. Shooting off screens and pin downs aren’t going to draw that many fouls and if you throw in the amount of step backs going on in the nba of pick and roll action it’s not going to be to many fouls when you have that kinda space of the court. It’s honestly a good thing when you have players like Steph and klay who can score 50 without dribbling.

  21. babyface_killah

God help us if we end up meeting them in the play-in
