Kyrie, Luka & Mavs defeat Kings, Cuban would ‘love’ to have Kyrie back | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Before the Mavericks-Kings game last night, team owner Mark Cuban talked to reporters about the possibility of the Mavericks trying to sign Kyrie Irving to a long-term deal in the offseason. Cuban said, quote, “I’d love to have him stay for sure. I’d love to have him.” Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes react to Cuban’s words and debate if the Mavericks can still save their season with two games to play.

  1. Nick would pick his friends sons AAU team to beat the nuggets in the 1st round lmao.

  2. I find it bizarre that all the conversations around the mavs revolve around Kyrie or Luka and not the fact that Jason Kidd is one of the worst coaches in the league. Bucks sacked him and won a chip lol

  3. Anyone else notice how quiet Pop and Steve Kerr have been over the topic of the trans shooter in Nashville? Anytime a shooting fits their liberal narrative, they cry and pound their fist at the podium before blaming republicans. Where are they now? A leftist tranny loon just killed 6 people and they have nothing to say about it. Google Steve Kerr’s reaction to the Uvalde shooting…

  4. The Jazz are actually mathematically still in this. It also helps a little that they're playing the Thunder. They just need pray the Thunder lose their last game and the Mavs lose both of their remaining games.

  5. Wildes just giving his guy a fistbump for the great take and brou says "Thank you" xD I love this!! Please never stop!

  6. You know what’s funny…I’m a mavericks fan and a Baltimore ravens fan. I just can’t take this year so far. It’s all awful.

  7. Dallas needs to get rid of Jason Kidd, great player, not a good coach. Look at the teams he's coached and what they've done and then look at them once he goes?

  8. Signing Kyrie this off season would not be the worst thing they could do, only IF they can building a better supporting cast around them, which must include a legitimate starting center.

  9. I myself am from Slovenia. Trust me on one thing: We Slovenians are only loyal to our family, to our friends and to our home country. We certainly don't feel any loyalty to other cities or to other countries, eventhough we might work there for a few months a year. And why should we exactly? So, i can assure you, that Luka is the typical Slovenian in this aspect, believe me. And frankly, Luka doesn't owe Dallas a thing. He is not from Dallas, he is not from America. And also, he came to the NBA already polished and as a decorated European Superstar. Luka was not like Giannis or Jokić who were just some unknown role players upon arriving to the NBA, and were therefore very gratefull and thankfull to their teams for believing in them and drafting them.

Luka just like every other player didn't have any power to choose to which team he would go, and if he would have that power, he would certainly choose a much more competent, relevant and successfull franchise than Dallas. Luka is a fierce competitor and he is used to constantly winning from his days at Real Madrid and for his home country Slovenia. He has already admited numerous times, that he is unusually obsessed with winning. That is why everyone can notice those anger outbursts of his on the court all the time whenever he is losing.

Trust me, he will definatelly not put up with a incompetent franchise and with a bad losing team for far to long. And throughout this recent year, Luka has started already to show his own frustrations with this team and with this franchise alot more on the court and of the court. He is not happy at all with how things have been going for the past 5 years with this franchise and it has been going downhill every passing year.

Luka will definatelly leave instantly in a year or two, if untill then Dallas doesn't build a serious, competent, contending championship team around Luka throughout the course of the next season. You can bet on it.

  10. Dallas will SIGN AND TRADE Kyrie
    for
    AYTON and CP3
This has been Kyrie's plan (along with his beta KD) the whole time

  11. Nick even if dallas clinched the play-in, they would never survive it. Timberwolves, pelicans and lakers play defensively better than them.. They are not going anywhere..

  12. “There’s no perfect players until they are perfect.” There’s literally zero perfect players ever and I’ve been going to 40-60 NBA games since 1987!

Also Dirk is the only example of a European great who stayed on team after they made a ton of mistakes (Hakeem did but African). Of course Duncan and Giannis stayed bc their organizations built great TEAMS around them!

  13. Mav can't defend and rebound. They're not going anywhere. However, with Luka you always have a chance.

  14. Luka’s a cow. That guy needs to get in shape. Any offence concept revolving around pace and he’s out. On the other hand, Kyrie loves pace, that’s why their scoring in a game is so juxtaposed. They might as well play in different lineups all together. Then their is their collective defence…

  15. I think Mavs are in a lose lose situation with Kyrie in the offseason and how it will impact Luka. You can't give Kyrie a max extension because you don't know if he'll end up playing a lot. And if they offer him a short contract he'll likely walk and that will make Luka dissappointed with the organization.

  16. Broussard brought it to the point: it is not a one man show. Casey from AMHoops did make a great video about Doncic. I personally think he is a toxic player and nobody wants to play with him.
