Looks like a bunch of nothing happening on offense, no advantages created from any sort of DHO’s or pick n rolls. What is the coaching staff telling this team to even do on offense? Scottie getting the switch with blake griffin guarding him and still not attacking him at all doesn’t help either

Remember when Nick Nurse innovated our offense from a formerly iso-centric offense and Casey got COTY for it?

    I miss that Nick Nurse.

The one thing that’s obvious watching this team is the actions aren’t smooth at all

Other teams flow from one move to another (ie handoffs, off ball screens etc) easily and the raptors run them so slowly that they never really create space or advantages

Like just look at how slow everything happens in this clip. Achiuwa slowly walks to screen for Scottie, Scottie takes too long to throw the post pass, Achiuwa lazily strolls into the handoff, then lofts a slow pass to Barton to stop him from turning the corner with speed. There isn’t a single thing happening here that isn’t incredibly easy to defend

What is Precious doing that entire play. Either roll to the rim or spot up. what the hell are all these post ups with no plan

I think where this possession falls apart is Barnes picking up his dribble in the high post. And high-post is my favorite place for Barnes to operate, but this gives him nothing. He should either be getting into the post before receiving a pass, or keeping his dribble until an advantage is created. The moment he picks up his dribble, he loses any chance at an advantage. If he gets into Griffin more and takes the dribble into the lane (which he’s absolutely capable of doing), then he probably stops Williams from hedging onto Boucher, while also giving lots of room for Barton to swing back around to the strong side.

I’ll even prefer iso ball in which he team’s actually hunting mismatches prior to iso-ing (which the starters do reasonably well) over this.

People keep saying this is a talent issue, but our ball movement is bad for a highschool team, nevermind the NBA.

I think its best for everyone if Nurse leaves tbh.

I guess everyone will shit on Nurse here but this is also highlighting the glaring bench issues this team has. Especially at guard.

This is like watching a soccer game on that one episode of the Simpson’s

You could pull footage from about 80% of our offensive possessions for this post.

  11. ArchMurdoch

Letting the defense get set is a key part of our offense

  12. Karl_with_a_C

This is our bench* offense. Yes.
It’s awful when Fred isn’t out there. Especially when Fred *and* Pascal are both on the bench. Scottie as the primary ball handler has not worked well this year.

  13. Then-Signature2528

No rim pressure lol. Celtics aren’t even guarding those passes because they want the Raptors to shoot 😂

  14. lituranga

What happened to our offense from past yrs seriously. Is this really because of the players or did we stop coming up with new plays or what is going on??

  15. God this is the exact play I was scratching my head on yesterday. Why did Precious switch off only to come back to Griffin and settle for a jump shot

  16. TurtleSquad23

This team is like an orchestra of good players but the conductor is three kids in an adult suit…Like that Boban commercial.

  17. QueasyDrummer00

Scottie used to make such great passes last year and now he’s picking up his dribble beyond the 3 point line for no reason? Whoever’s coaching the offense is a brain dead moron. Add some movement for gods sake!
