Oscar Tshiebwe returning to play a fifth season for Kentucky basketball? | Kentucky Wildcats Podcast

Could Oscar Tshiebwe be coming back for Kentucky basketball again?

On today’s episode of Locked On Kentucky Lance Dawe discusses the recent rumors surrounding Oscar Tshiebwe and his potential decision to come back and play one more season for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Tshiebwe is already established as one of the greatest Kentucky players of all time… with nothing left to prove, and little room to improve his already low NBA Draft stock, what could he gain from returning for another season?

Dawe also answers some listener questions. We have an insider update on Rob Dillingham’s status with Kentucky. Are there any good shooters in the transfer portal that Kentucky could pursue? What are our final thoughts on Sahvir Wheeler? With Kentucky struggling to defend the rim last season, would a better shot-blocking big be a good transfer portal choice over Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson? What about Kel’el Ware?

  1. I like having Oscar back as long as the offense doesn't need to go through him. I don't think that will happen with the new recruits coming in. I think we got a group of alpha dogs coming with some attitude which I like.

  2. If used properly it would be good to have Oscar back. Would rather have Hunter. But we need some big bodies. Would love to just see Oscar rebound. Just clean up around the hoop. No need to play through him.

  3. This is only Oscar's 7th or 8th yr playing basketball he's got to improve with time
The question I have is Oscar a good teammate, does his teammates like him?

  4. KY doesn't need to bring in more shooter's we've got Reed Shepard who may be the best shooter in the incoming class…

  5. i don't want oscar back he either doesn't try or is incapable of playing defense. when he does get the board he's developed a bad habit of bringing the ball down around his waist/knees which has led to and will lead to turnovers. he's a bad passer out of the post. if the offense doesn't go through him why does anyone want him just for rebounds? rebounding is important but you need buckets and to prevent buckets to win games. we have seen what a oscar led team is capable of twice and it's not good enough. time to move on. if he comes back then the recruiting class that everyone loves hardly matters because the ball is going to oscar and our rim protection is the exact same. nonexistent.

  6. Rather have Oscar back. But his minutes will be cut at times because what Bradshaw brings is different than Oscar

  7. They were talking about Oscar taking more 3's this season but I think if he does return he needs to prove that he can stretch the floor more just by how the roster coming in is set up.

  8. I would like Bradshaw getting most of the minutes but Oscar coming back will be big when Bradshaw is getting bullied which he will. Needs to bulk up

  9. I think that if Oscar comes back he starts at the 4 and gets some time at the 5. I believe that alone helps him to develop.

  10. They still need a big, Dickinson is still the one we need. Oscar needs to change his game up and work on his shooting range, which I have seen him doing on Twitter

  11. The only reason their are rumors that Oscar and the rest of the team didnt get along is because he was the first UK player ever allowed to move out of the Wildcat Lodge and people are putting two and two together

  12. I hope Oscar returns because Kentucky needs veteran players who's used to playing under John Calipari to have a chance of winning a national championship or at least making a Final Four.

  13. I would love UK to just say were going to recruit he hell out of the absolute best shooting frontcourt player 6'8" available.
