[Shams] The Memphis Grizzlies are waiving guard Kennedy Chandler, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Surprising release of the rookie 20-year-old who was on long-term deal. Kennedy will receive strong interest on league’s waivers and open market.

wtf I liked how KC was playing and thought he would be the tyus replacement in 2 years, whats going on

    My thoughts either:

    – Signing a big man vet
    – Upgrading Lofton to the main roster from two way

I’m guessing they did this to get Lofton a regular contract, which also means Steve-O isn’t coming back for the playoffs

we’re about to sign junior or some other big.

Hopefully we will resign KC in the offseason.

  5. Opening a spot for another big? Bad news for Santi or Steven? Does someone have to go for Lofton to get a spot? Can Vince Williams not be waived instead?

  6. I guess this is why we kept running Des at point instead of playing him until garbage time. I’m sad though

I liked his energy whenever he was on the court 🙁 wish him the best

I liked Chandler, but he is likely too small to ever be effective. Unless he becomes a transcendent scorer his size is just too much of a liability.

Ngl this was piss poor roster management. How we didn’t end up with a big when we knew adams was out at the deadline and even in buyout market is beyond me.

Man, I hope we do alright by him. That is tough…

Thought for sure laravia would be the one cut

I feel chandler is still not ready and too prone to turnovers like hes always get nervous when hes on the court. I maybe wrong tho

  14. I’ll be honest, I never really saw much in Kennedy. Quick athlete who could pass but he couldn’t shoot anything and wasn’t an aggressive scorer; as a smaller guard those are the quintessential skills you need to have to account for a lack of size. There’s much better talent in the draft or g league if you’re looking for guard options
