The front office doesn’t make those decisions! The coaching staff are the one’s that decide on who play’s, and the fit they need for those games. If Nurse wanted Dowtin he would have been converted a long time ago. They haven’t converted him because Nurse didn’t go to the front office and tell them he needs Dowtin for the play in. Masai and Bobby are not sitting in some office somewhere telling the coaching staff to take this guy, or that guy and make him work into your plans. You think Masai and Bobby are there everyday at practice watching players and deciding who plays for Nurse and the coaching staffing ? Dowtin isn’t on the team because Nurse didn’t plan on using him. Everybody know’s Nurse keeps tight rotation in the playoffs, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him giving “the vet” Thad Young minutes in the play in because that’s why they gave up a first round pick for him. If the President and the GM of a team is telling the coach who needs to be in his line up for the play in, or playoffs then what’s the coaches job ?

I don't think the fact that the Raptors are playing poorly is due to not signing Downtin Jr. If Downtin Jr is the linchpin to this team then we have even bigger problems!
The downtin piece isn't a big deal when you consider they aren't getting out of the first round if they even get that far. We're talking a few games no big deal, we can sign him this offseason
They should have converted Jeff before and when bringing Joe W on as Two Way or not at all.

Dude, it's not a mistake not converting Dowtin. He's not going to see time in the play-in outside of garbage time. PLus, he's still a restricted free agent, so they can match any offer he gets next year. All they did was delay the decision on him until the summer. Dowtin was pretty competent, but he wasn't making an impact beyond being mostly mistake-free. And saying that not converting a two-way player is "not believing in this team" is hyperbole in the extreme.
What if all the free agents leave?? 😮

The pertle move was and still is a good move…the players cant shoot and went cold. Our pg is short, not fast gets cooked nightly and was playing for a contract not the team first. Now we kno how good of a leader and pg kyle really was. They definitely kno this team aint going no were. They cant hit the lake standing infront of it. And our pg getting cooked and cant shoot dont help either. There was no beef joel said pascal is his guy cut it out bro.

I have been watching other podcasts re the Raptors. My take is that Coach Nurse and Masai are not seeing eye to eye re who should be playing and thus the coach will be gone after the season is officially over.

If Nick Nurse leaves I hope the Raps give Adrian Griffin a chance. If they look outside the organization, my top choice is Kenny Atkinson. His schemes and how hard he gets his players to play as well as being known for player development really entices me ALOT not to mention he’s coming from a winning organization and is an assistant under such an amazing coach like Steve Kerr.
At this point it seems very unlikely that the Raptors will make the playoffs. They desperately needed to be the 8th seed, at 9th the odds become very slim.
