Mac McClung 76ers Debut Highlights Vs Hawks

Mac played just 7 minutes in this one, scoring 5 points off a 3 and a couple of free throws. I didn’t think he looked out of place defensively… offensively he looked pretty good aside from his 2 turnovers. He had a layup blocked in the first half that should’ve been a goal tend as it clearly hit the backboard first but he didn’t get the call.

This was the first time seeing him against an NBA teams first unit as his 2 previous games were against end of the bench guys. Defensively he was mostly guarding Bogdanovic and on offense he was mostly guarded by Trae Young. Hopefully he gets 20 plus minutes in the final game of the regular season on Sunday. 2 way guys aren’t eligible for the playoffs so that game will conclude Mac’s season.

  1. Smart in so many ways for Philly to bring this kid in. Iā€™m not saying heā€™s going to be an all star and a game changer by lighting up the score board, but heā€™s an underdog in a city the goes crazy for underdogs and will definitely bring a ton of energy to the team and stadium every time he does something good.

  2. Like a lot of the comments and for many who follow college basketball Mac was a great college player and Georgetown and Tx Tech. Really hoping he sticks

  3. Not understanding the Warriors letting him go. Just pure stupidity. What Mac is lacking, and it isnā€™t much, he more than makes up for it with his energy level. Always high energy. And thatā€™s exactly what you need coming off the bench every single time. He has that! BBall IQ is outstanding. So to all you idiots out there that let him go, you think you know, but you really donā€™t know. And yes, the little white guy won the NBA slam dunk competition!!!!! Hello!!!!!! Heā€™s a better version of John Stockton if you ask me. But you have to cut him loose on the floor. Canā€™t hold him back!!!!!

  4. if you didnt know the MAC before the dunk contest, then your really not that into basketball!

  5. Sorry, but nope. This dude is šŸ—‘, if you watched the game and not some 2 garbage minutes highlight, you wouldn't be here comparing this dude to smaller guards like Curry and Irving.šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

  6. Thereā€™s tons of random footage of hs bball kids doing this and that on YT. At the time I obv assumed he was just another one of those. Iā€™m glad he has made it to the nba no matter what happens after tonightā€™s game.

  7. He's going to end up like Jason Williams with lots of tats likely

  8. Same people claim he isnt good enough to be here also said ben simmons a allstar

  9. They should keep playing him, he looks like he has great potential. All he needs is the opportunity

  10. Never ceases to amazing me how someone like McClung has had to fight to get into the NBA while Ben Simmons exists

  11. 2023 Dunk Contest Winner
Did Great in the G League
    Solid debut for 76xers
    All in the same year
Hope he can contribute for them during the playoffs this year as well

  12. Let him play in GSW small ball system…he will be the 3rd best center after DrayGreen and GP2 in that order..šŸ’Ŗ

  13. Okay, at least the commentators mentioned his high school career. I know most casuals donā€™t know him but damn, to those who do it feels like they just snatched away all he worked for smh

  14. Mac: lacing up his shoes
NBAā€™s Social Media Manager: Cut the clip and throw it on the highlight reel

But in all seriousness Iā€™m happy to see him on the court, definitely deserving of an NBA roster spot.
