Mike Breen on RJ: “Because he’s only 22, we don’t know what his celing is. But whatever that ceiling is, he’s gonna reach it, because he has a great work ethic. The ups & downs, he has great poise in how he deals with it. If he can become a more consistent shooter, he’ll be so much more dangerous…”

But if you don’t define the ceiling it’s kind of pointless. I guess Mike is saying if RJ is not going to be a good player it’s not for lack of effort.

The vast majority of NBA players have great work ethics. Not saying much.

That Twitter stats thread is really hard to ignore.

For me, it’s way more confirming to what my eyes are scared I’m seeing. If that makes sense.

Can anyone give me literally any statistic that comparative or impact based that indicates he’s good at anything in particular, or is trending that way?

Sure, Breen is a positive guy and has no reason to trash a player, particularly one he knows well and sees regularly. Doesn’t mean much, we’ve all watched the games.

This would only be newsworthy if Breen said something harsh; positivity on the last day of the reg season is par for the course.

Still, the “if he can become a more consistent shooter” is carrying a lot of water here. That’s the fundamental problem, and it’s shown no real signs of changing.
