It's been a long time, but we have obtained franchise-changing players via trade, like Rasheed Wallace and Buck Williams. So it can be done here.
You should never coach another nba team again. I just watched an old nba game replay on nba TV and you were talking as an analyst, and you weren't even qualified for that job either! π You coach like Nate McMillan did., just standing on the Sideline like a statue. By the way I've had season ticket for over 15 years and watched the Blazers since the late 80s. I went to maybe 7 games this year because I couldn't find anyone to sell them to. I've watched the Blazers my entire life and know we get the short end of the stick when it comes to nba scripting the finals. The nba doesn't want are "small market" to ever be in the playoffs over the Lakers Warriors etc etc. Chauncey should be let go, Scott Brooks did more coaching than him. We had a coach on our sideline that was helping create guys like LA and the Sun's swooped him up. Go get Udoka this off season. Chauncey's plan and course of attack for this team ain't it. Absolutely trade ant and Nurk and Watford..it's a must
All play shitty defense, and Nurk is always injured on top of that
Who to get: a decent two way SF
Like OG or Mikel B.
A good backup passing PG to make easy buckets for others
A Center who can rebound the heck and block shots, Capella would be the perfect fit..because if also Dame Sharpe or anybody else misses a 3, we need somebody who can rebound as well on offensive end
My ideal realistic trades would be
Nurk and 2 or 3 2nd rounders for Capella
Ant and New York pick and maybe even 2 2nd rounders for Mikel, or Ant and a 2 2nd rounders for OG and Thadeus Young
And future first rounder and few 2nd rounders and Watford for Jericho Sims, or a future first/ few 2nd rounders and Watford for Brooklyn's Sharpe
Other option would be to to sign cam and trade him and Knox and few second rounders for Jonathan Isaac, since yes Banchero isnt anywhere near as good as defensively as Isaac, but he plays defense and is a superstar in the making, and with that he would need quality time
And we would get a really good defender
And all of that is without trading this top 5 pick
And if this pick turns into Victor Webenyama, you absolutely trade him Nurk, and Ant and 2 first rounders for Embid, maybe 2 first rounders not needed if Embid asks for a trade especially
