The game against the Spurs should be an indication why Kidd should not be the coach next season. While Kidd was there in the game, he might as well have been on vacation just like the core players. Kidd did not call a timeout, make a substitution, nor chewed down his players when the Spurs built the 20point lead in the 1st Q. Even if the game was no bearing whatsoever, the game might have been a learning opportunity where he could have tried different plays and defensive and offensive schemes. Well, if Kidd has been clueless the entire season, what more could I ask for this non-bearing last game of the season?

I disagree with the idea mavs were the only ones who were not quite about it. Damian Lillard in a press conference openly said he was healthy and wants to compete but the organization is probably saving him from himself.

When they went 2-7 during that stretch in January, I said they should "secretly tank" like the Spurs appeared to be doing. Sit a few players for rest strategically in tough games, leave a few players on the injured list for a week or two later than needed, etc. EVERYONE called me crazy. Had they done that & dropped to Top 6, this is a deep deep talented draft. Pick up a solid role player on a rookie contract (or get extremely lucky & get Wemby), and then work your roster around. I personally want to see them sign & trade Kyrie to the Suns for Ayton. Ayton is a top 3 roll man with career averages of 16.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, & 1 block per game. AND he's only 24. You'd have your center & years to build chemistry with Luka. Hopefully draft a solid rookie this year and both Hardy & Green are progressing. Young core would be there.
I already stopped watching the 2nd half of the season when they benched Wood for no reason and powell was being overplayed beyond any sense of common logic. If this same piece of garbage is still for some reason coaching a team thats already proven beyond his control and elementary understanding, I'm not watching the season in general.

Praying Mavs donāt resign Powell donāt give Kidd the option to even start him. That alone will result in more wins. And it would be nice if we can trade Hardy for a defensive minded center.

When you have a coach like Ime Udoka somewhere you need to do everything to hire him.

Jason Kidd is a great assistant but he is not a head coach. He doesn't know enough Xs and Os to be making calls. When it's blatantly obvious to all fans watching that this guy runs no offense, can't draw up an effective play.
Last year was an outlier. This year is more on track with his coaching history. I was hopeful he got better as a coach after seeing last year's success but this year proved me wrong.

Kidd is well liked by players, but he is not a good coach that can win games in the long run. When he got fired from the Bucks the players including Giannis supported him, but with a new coach they got to winning.
Luka is a great enough talent to win a decent number of games a year by himself with any coach, but he needs to have a great coach to really harness all of his talent. Other great players like Kobe and Lebron were good enough to win games single-handedly and even make the playoffs but they didn't win championships until they found coaches that maximized their abilities without burning them out every season.
we all know that jkidd will be the head coach of the mavs next season.. but it is not a guarantee that he will last till the end of that season.. if the record show no improvement then jkidd will be gone .

Of course Kidd will be back. If they dont fire Kidd, then Nico knows he can use Kidd as a scapegoat for this horrible roster he put together and if he fired Kidd he knows the next shoe to drop is himself. Also if they fire Kidd that would mean Cuban has admitted to another blunder, and we all know Cuban will do everything in his power to never admit he messed up. Even Cuban knows he only has so many "take foul" excuses he can use before even locked on mavs will vouch for him to sell the team.
