Watching the game is painful. No one in the Nuggets was hitting beyond the arc for a long time. At this point I think Jokic is making Malone look good.
I'm not worried about this loss. But, the only reason I'm not worried, is because Jokic is such a constant and will likely not miss any games in the playoffs. It's games like this though that make me wonder, if we could hypothetically build a team with low ego guys that could be a semi play in type of team without Jokic, what would that look like? it's a small sample size, and don't get me wrong, I fucking love MPJ, but in the 7 games he's played without Jokic, he shoots 20% from 3 (49 attempts) and like 42% overall. Imagine we replace him with a guy like Mikal Bridges, he look great in Brooklyn, gets his own shot, elite from the midrange and can hit near 40% from 3, along with being a dpoy level player. how Great would he look alongside Jokic? what if we had a Jrue holiday who is another Dpoy kinda guy who can also run an offense/ light it up. I love Jamal, I love KCP, I love MPJ, I love AG, but so much of their production relies on Jokic existing. I wish Malone wasn't such a goon, cuz I feel like if we properly developed Payton Watson, he'd be huge for us, I fear that next year Ismael wont get a chance to play because Malone wants a vet. I doubt Collin will either when he's healthy. IDK, it would just be nice to have the option to stagger Jokic, but our starters need him just as terribly bad as our bench does and starter minutes are simply more important
This goes to show why Jokic is the MVP!!! He's more valuable to his team then any other player in the NBA. Maybe that's why they sit Jokic out. To prove a point.

It sucks to conclude this but perhaps Malone and Denver coaching stuff are just frauds who are hiding behind Jokic's greatness. They even can't get the bench to function. Only Djordjevic could coach without Jokic. Not even Pesic could… But Djordjevic and Serbia had Teodosic… So unfair comprising.
Sooo it is actually very simple: To have Jokic in your team, you need effing good playmaker that can take over when Jokic is out or on the bench. Murray isn't that… He is a shooting guard, not a point guard. We don't have a point-guard, just like Serbia didn't have a decent point guard at Euro (Micic sucks!).

Honestly, I am disappointed by the outcome here, but not completely disheartened. Defense has been pretty good, offensive flow to the game average, effort (aside from Bryant) has been good. We just couldn’t hit the broad side of a fricking barn tonight. I would say Jokic wasn’t in, but he didn’t shoot the ball for them. Murray did well at the end of the 2nd, but Porter and KCP were absolutely wretched. Just one of those games I guess.
I feel better about this than our 4 game slide because effort was good, shots just weren’t falling. This could be bad news for Phoenix; probably gonna get a pissed off Denver team rolling in. Probably no Murray tomorrow? We shall see

Coaching. If a team is bad regardless of the combination of players and who they are going against it’s pretty safe to say it’s a poorly coached team. Then you can see a player like bones go to the clippers and start playing good after forcing a trade because he doesn’t like the way Malone used him
Need to talk more about free throw shooting!! In the 4th when it was close, the difference was almost entirely in FT’s. No one can blame Joker’s absence for missing an insane number of FT’s!! Blame coaching for failing to discipline.
The problem is precisely in Jokic, when he plays, he offers them everything served on a platter, easy, open shots, and to those people who play with him, for years the skill does not grow, they do not develop it, because they get everything on a platter, they do not practice as they should to create something, especially since the ball is always with Jokic, so they don't have a chance, so that's the other side of the coin… that's great for Jokic and us his fans, but it's disastrous for his teammates, whoever they are. ..
So players like Gordon, Porter, and to some extent Murray, mostly everyone, depends exclusively on the creation of Jokic, and they themselves, except to some extent Murray, do not have that creation, nor will they ever have it as long as Jokic plays with them. So I would not agree with the comments that it is a group of citizens, but they are lucky, and therefore unlucky, to play with Jokic.
