Current Lebrons stats are better but 2013 Lebron would actually be so insane with the increased pace

  2. LeagueReddit00

People don’t realize how much better he was in 13. I abhor boxscore nerds.

  3. kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Robbed of DPOY that year smh

  4. Temet21

I think everyone realizes how insane it is lol

  5. Rickflossyy

Bron is interesting because even tho he’s gradually lost athleticism, his basketball IQ has replaced whatever he lost

  6. Family-man24

He won a lot more when he averages less

  7. ILackPatience

38 YO dude should not be getting this amount of minutes

  8. LakerDoc

Obviously stats are great. But young Lebron would demolish this league, easily would be clear favorites to win it all with this team.

The league is different today. Wayyyy easier to score.

Look at Kobe’s scoring averages for most of his career. He was hovering around 26 PPG. Now guys like Trae Young, Randle, etc., average 26 PPG like it’s nothing. Kobe would be averaging 35 PPG routinely in today’s game.

Dropping 30 back then when teams were only scoring 90 points per game meant you accounted for 33% of the points scored. Nowadays, you have teams averaging 120 PPG so 30 would only represent 25% of the points scored. That doesn’t even account for the three point explosion which means you have players being wide open or getting better looks because no longer can you just play zone defense. Now, even your center has to start guarding the three point line.

People look at Giannis as a freakish monster. I agree, he is. But the league is thankful 2008-2014 LeBron didn’t exist today. No one was more athletic and better at getting to the paint. He would be a 35-10-10 player on like 55%, tbh.

It’s just an example of how misleading comparing data is. 2014 LeBron with THIS roster? Mannnn, IDC if Russ is still on the team. LeBron is carrying this roster to at least 50 wins.

The beard makes it look like over ten years his head shrank and coalesced into a mega chin.

I haven’t gone a day in my life without seeing a comparison of Brons stats 10 years apart

  12. Cweezy91

Gotta take into consideration 2013 LBJ played almost an entire season averaging this. 2023 Bron played almost 30% less games this year.

  13. Comfortable_City7064

2018 LeBron was the goat in my opinion

  14. That lebron is a top 2 defender and can play 48 minutes. Not even close lol

  15. hatisbackwards

Are people really dumb enough to compare just raw stats? Watch a clip of lebron in miami. It’s a radically different player in terms of energy he plays with and defense.

    18 years old:
    20.9ppg
    41.7%
    5.5rpg
    5.9apg
    39.5mpg

  17. whiteguyinCS

Offensively he’s still got it, but 2013 LeBron was also playing DPOY-level defense.

  18. Smooth-Beginning-365

2013 actually played defense at a high level tho which is a huge difference

  19. JaxonStormBorn

2013 Lebron would absolutely dominate today’s game

  20. Totknax

The telling stat would be games missed due to injury.

Sadly father time will always be undefeated.

Let’s savor his remaining productive/elite years!

  21. Beautiful-History-33

Id take 57% over 51% any day

  22. ARoodyPooCandyAss

Just the perfect storm of world class body treatments maintenance and upkeep, crazy genetics and probably a lot of luck avoiding injury.
