Nick presents his argument for Giannis’ MVP candidacy | What’s Wright?

Why are we not just giving the MVP award to Giannis Antetokounmpo? Right now it’s down to Giannis, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić. While Nick Wright maintains the Milwaukee Bucks frontman is the best of the three, watch to see what other player makes sense for the award, and why Nick wouldn’t be mad to see him win it.

  1. Nick, can you check if the Lakers really finished first in front of the Bucks in 2020. just a fan. i saw somewhere they said they did not.

  2. Nick is wrong about the 2020 mvp. Bucks won 56 games, and lakers won 52. Giannis was only averaging less assists than Lebron and he also was Dpoy. I don't think lebron had a better case than Giannis for mvp that year.

  3. Love your analysis Nick, but you've used this "Lakers had a better record in 2020" point to support your argument on your show and now here, and it's flatly not true. Not even close to true. 2020 Bucks: 56-17. 2020 Lakers: 52-19.

  4. If Embiid wins it due to "voter fatigue", it would forever be known as his sympathy MVP. Giannis is the top 3 player on the undisputed best team in the league with the best record, he deserves the MVP.

  5. Giannis had
    More points than lebron
    More reb than lebron
    Better efficient than lebron
    Better team record than lebron
    Dpoy

but somehow lebron was the MVP cause he had more assists?
    come on Nick …..

  6. Stop with the best player best team automatic mvp thats stupid Embiid should get it Giannis is the better player but not by much and hes not having a better season than Embiid

  7. Let him win it because he doesn't have one is such nonsense lol. You pick the better player, the most valuable player, period. Pity MVP is so weak.

  8. nick cmon man.Giannis was on pace for 70 wins before the bubble in 2020.giannis had the league in sumbles that year he should have been the unanimous mvp

  9. Sympathy vote… if you got an MVP you dont have to tear other players down to prove your point.. that said, they will be giving mvp to embiid, and the voters are destroying the importance of mvp. They're making it worthless. Depreciating its value

  10. nick is straight up wrong-and if u go back to his show in 2020 everyone including him was in agreement that giannis was the clear mvp

  11. You mean Lebron was better than Giannis during his second MVP year? C'mon Nick! You can't truly believe that!

  12. don’t rewrite history , Giannis was on pace for 70 wins (better record) AND was the dpoy AND averaging like a point per minute

AND espn had AD ranked as the 2nd best player in the league , so he did more with less

  13. Finals MVP is more suitable if any. Nick's assessment may have been of Giannis past and not present, but he's right.

  14. 😞😞😞😞 Nick, why did you compare on the program "First things first" Lebron's international performances to Lukas international performances, and has also said, that Luka doesn't have the excuse to play bad on the defensive end of the basketball game? Lebron in his whole basketball career has played only 3 times in international competitions: in 2004, in 2008, in 2012. Luka on the other hand, has played in 3 straight years for his country Slovenia already untill his 23 birthday, and is therefore way more tired and unable to play elite basketball on both ends of the floor. You can't compare Lebron to Luka in regards to playing basketball throughout the year, when Luka has been playing basketball 11 months per year every single year for the last 4 years and Lebron has played for International basketball only three times in his whole career.

  15. Jokic has a natural ability for placing fundamentals, while Embid strives to perfect his game. It's the strife that may get awarded in due time. Embid.

  16. Wrong about this one Nick. Giannis won more games and was the better player that season.

  17. Giannis- only superstar who defends at a high level since lebron is no longer the defender he once was, kawhi's injuries slowed him down, KD not known for defense, Embiid doesn't give consistent effort on D

  18. "Nick presents his argument for Giannis' MVP candidacy"
Not much of an argument for Giannis… 😂
Plus, as others have said, in 2020 Bucks had a better record.
Other than that, this clip is great! 😂

  19. Nick tryna re-write history. LeBron has a ton of MVP years he shoulda won but didn't, but Giannis MVPs were not those years. Giannis outscored, outrebounded, and played much better defense than LeBron that year, and was by far the best player on his team (also the best player in the league, which matters a lot to me). I'd give LeBron MVP every year from 2005-2018 before I'd give him 2020.

  20. We just gonna ignore the fact that people keep moving the goalpost on Giannis MVP votes. After his second won it was win a championship before we can give you another one now it's let's give to one of these guys who haven't even made it to a conference championship game…

  21. Nicks plays the cop out sympathy card when it comes to determine the MVP?!?! Can I have your job?

  22. Is this a joke? Lebron was pushed for that MVP, leading the league in assists, but now Harden, the current assist leader, is not even mentioned in order to push Embiid… Giannis got a life ban from MVP talks, the moment he resigned with the Bucks.

  23. I stupidest thing is to say one player is obviously better but we're going to give to him just because. 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂
