all the talking heads everywhere only talk about is luka and kyrie neither of rhem are the problem so really wish we could stop with that and talk about the real problem. dwight maxie reggie timmy theo and frankl are really bad
with games scores in the 130 to 150 doesn't seem to me that anyone plays defense
Get better players seems like the easy answer.

What people don’t understand is Luka isn’t a terrible defender the problem is his IQ is so high that the way he plays defense is to force his guy he is guarding towards the help if you notice he never gets beat baseline unless the help is there he always forces his guy into the help which is where having Powell out there makes it look like Luka is a terrible defender when he’s not if he has any competent defensive center behind him his defense would look like it’s improved drastically. I always hate when people go at Luka for his defense when his entire career he’s never had at minimum an average defensive minded center let alone an elite defensive center. Give Luka a Clint Capela or a Myles Turner as a center and watch how much better his defense looks he can play up and not worry about getting beat or he can play off and force them into a contested mid range jumper etc. He plays team defense extremely well and I know people will bring up oh he gets caught ball watching and plays to far off his opponent well no duh he has to because no defensive presence in the paint and he’s the best rebounder on the team imagine if he played tight off ball defense and you lose 5 or so defensive rebounds per game Yall think rebounding was horrible already it would look 10x worse. He always plays team defense and forces his guy towards the help again it’s because his teammates aren’t talented enough nor do they have a high basketball IQ to understand team defense is better then individual defense.
Hey retards on 105.3 the fan , the reason they got kyrie is because they needed a superstar coz luka can’t handle all the offense himself. Luka will have to adjust and kyrie will have to adjust vice versa. Any team with a legit chance of championship needs a superstar and at least another star. Also if you want to go with luka and whole bunch of wings and a center I.E the harden Houston rockets method ,good luck in getting any good wing player who is willing to play the role of stand for the entire shot clock in the corner and make a contested 3 with 2 seconds left on the shot clock.

People could say whatever they want The reason why Luka struggles supposedly on defenses because he carries so much of the offensive burden. He needs to get in the gym with Kyrie get him resigned as soon as possible and they need to figure out who's going to be on the court when and then how hard they can play defense defense also comes down to rotations and if you don't have the wings or the bigs to be able to slow down people at all those guys are going to come very hard. Like if you watch other basketball team A lot of the point guards in shooting guards that are coming downhill at Dallas aren't doing that to a lot of other teams because there's somebody that can rotate to slow them down or rotate to stop them from just laying it right into the basket. The problem with the Dallas Mavericks is not Luka or Kyrie defensively.
First problem they are entirely too small and they have too many guys that are normally shooting guards trying to guard wings.
Second problem they have not one big that doesn't allow guards to get into their body move them and then score and the bigs don't play with their hands up laterally.
But the third and most important problem is the fact that our bigs keep getting back cut or back screened and literally guards are running straight to the basket not even one-on-one but just cutting back door Princeton style and getting easy baskets that's nothing to do with on the ball defense That's everything to do with exactly what Nico Harrison talked about yesterday which is our bigs don't have IQ level on defense so they are literally getting washed out.
Also the players that fit best with Luka on the Superstar side. I can name them for you and you can agree to disagree However these are the people that I believe would be the best for him and most of them are unattainable.

And every one of these players has the same traits there somewhere between a shooting guard and a small forward, that can score efficiently, but don't need the ball to be effective. Some people will push back and say Jalen Brunson. However in a series against a team like the Clippers that have multiple big wings he will get exposed. That doesn't mean he's not a good player That just means I don't see anybody he can guard. They have never had a guy like that.
These dummies just said Jason Kidd wasn’t fast. Are you kidding me? Kidd was super fast until late in his career. Have they ever seen Kidd play in college? He was very fast with his dribble and running fast breaks. Did you watch him in New Jersey with that run and gun team?
