[Clark] Zion windmilling during pregame warmups and not playing in an elimination game was a perfect encapsulation of the last four years. I can’t get over it.

He got his bag he good back to the buffet

  2. TattedUpDasher

It’s officially safe for me to say, I’m happy we got Ja over Zion.

  3. ClaymoresRevenge

If he’s not ready to play why force it? He could legit risk injury. Gotta take the slow approach with his health.

  4. thy_armageddon

Is it safe to say he probably won’t be the next Lebron at this point?

  5. SubZero_dot785

They might as well try to trade him if they can get value

  6. hiddenxox

I understand him not playing but I don’t understand the pregame stuff. Just seems like an odd choice in terms of perception.

It is pretty weird to see the Pelicans’ approach to injuries. Ingram got all of the time in the world to recover from a toe contusion, Zion clearly is just taking his sweet time. Meanwhile, CJ has been playing the past three months with a fucked-up thumb that will need surgery.

That bust is gonna be delivering my doordash soon

  9. circa285

My guy got paid and said, “I got mine” and does not appear to care about his team what-so-ever.

It was obvious he was going to be chronically overweight coming out of college and would likely continue to struggle with injuries due to the strain his playing style puts on his body. Hindsight is 20/20, but it wasn’t hard to see that the current scenario was a very realistic possibility. Couple that with whatever he has going on from a mental/motivation stand point and how the organization is treating him, dude might as well start getting comfortable being labeled as a bust.

This dude could take over the league if he took it 100% serious. Obviously we don’t know him but from the outside it just looks like he isn’t 100% all in yet and he’s this good already. Such huge huge potential. C’mon man damn

If you can dodge a windmill you can dodge a ball

  13. TheDarkSkinProphet

Idk how many basketball players can play a game at 300 lbs lmao

  14. b00g13man

It was a terrible look. I can understand not being mentally ready, but don’t come out doing fancy dunks before a game your team needs you, and you end up losing.

  15. Designer-Seaweed-257

I mean, he was doing basically the same thing last year. Will he keep the streak up?

  16. kukukele

Lots of people are born with talent. The combination of having that natural ability + the drive and work ethic for greatness is what made guys like LeBron, Kobe, MJ etc so damn special. They didn’t rest on their laurels, they worked as if they were the last man on the squad. It’s a rare breed.

  17. IntraspaceAlien

there were no reports of him being medically cleared or playing 5 on 5 yet, correct? all of this seems like he botched an interview that made it seem like he was finished with the rehab process when he wasn’t.

  18. MintyFreshBreathYo

I wonder how much being in a city he didn’t want to play for is affecting him. If he got traded to NYC would he work harder to stay in shape?

  19. ClitBobJohnson

When is it appropriate to call it like it is and accept that Zion’s body can’t hold up for a full NBA season?

  20. HawtPackage

It’s just weird because normally players in any sport struggle to keep weight throughout the season because the sports they play are so physically demanding. Problem is man’s is not playing.

  21. AutographedSnorkel

He’s like Greg Oden, but without any actual injuries

  22. 318papito

This was still a successful season for the Pelicans. I was happy for a month, which is about 2 months more than normal

  23. Natureboy7939

But imagine the windmill he is going to unleash on the thunder in a meaningless regular season game early next year as revenge . It’s going to be vicious

  24. RustyCorkscrew

Hot Take: gut tells me he’s gonna pull an Embiid and eventually semi-figure shit out to be more available

I am basing this off of my extensive 2k experience (injury sliders on, so it’s legit). I also just think it would be neat to watch him abuse rims for the next decade so here’s hoping

  25. relivesa

Pretty much. Cool dunk though. I’ll always be able to look it up on YouTube

  26. polochakar

Zion is pregame entertainment and not playoff material. It’s not me saying it it’s his own team management.

  27. ClydeGriffiths17

He really needs to cut weight badly. They should loan him to Miami for a season.

  28. NotOnHerb5

I’m done with him, tbh. Most of our fanbase still want to coddle him and protect his feelings, but we haven’t gotten a damn thing out of him in 4 years.

He’s a good kid and I would legit be friends with him and watch anime together. But, shit, man… As a player, I’m ready to cut our losses with him. His health has been a gigantic headache. I would love to move on. And I hope he can be successful on a different squad just because he’s a good kid.

Pels 12 – it’s time to build around TMIII and Herb. That’s our future.

  29. Tone_Deaf55

This dude about 2 steps from being Oden 2.0

  30. lundej16

“Who could’ve predicted this???” Says franchise warned about this exact situation every year for the last 5 years.

  31. OrganicGatorade

When I said I’d take Ja over Zion with the #1 pick they hated me, for I told them the truth

  32. As a fan of NBA basketball I truly hope that we get to see a healthy Zion for an extended period of time. But the way it’s going, he’s looking like he’s on the Greg Oden path

  33. FootballWithTheFoot

I mean I’m def frustrated, but tbf watching his warmup clips yesterday his movement leading up to the dunks really didn’t look a dude who could cut or sprint at 100% yet

  34. edwardfortehands

dude looked massive in his street clothes

  35. blacksoxing

To me, this is retail “why aren’t you working?” mentality. Sure, he can dunk. CAN WE RUN THE DAMN FLOOR FOR 30-MAX MINUTES THOUGH??? There’s a huge difference.

Zion’s biggest mistake was letting the ball touch his hand last night.

I remember working retail and managers being like “I thought you said your head hurt???” when someone was cracking jokes with someone at the register….but laughing your ass off ain’t the same as climbing a ladder with boxes in your hands and lifting 20-30lb boxes…

  36. This happened before. What a waste of money and talent
