The teams weren’t competing with one another to “win” a trade. They had different interests and priorities. Raptors seem like they want to run it back a year or two with this core and will have first dibs on re-signing Poeltl. Spurs were good with getting another pick.

Spurs obviously win if Toronto can’t keep him, but if they keep him it’s a win/win, they had a hole at center and the likelihood of a guy next year at 10-15 is probably not gonna be as good as Jak is

Only way we win is if we end up getting a lottery pick out of it in the 12 or better range imo. Toronto is clearly going to compete next season given that they owe us their pick so that’s pretty unlikely

Too early to tell? It could be a push (lose-lose) as well. Jakob signing with another team. We draft a bust with their pick. Hell theres still uncertainty in the Kawhii trade that netted them a ring. We got serviceable years from Demar, Jak and Keldon from it

What a weird and pointless article.
