[Lewenberg] Could Scottie Barnes hear Diar DeRozan last night? “For sure. It was quiet in the gym. She was yelling. I was trying to figure out who it was… I don’t know if it really had an effect. We went 18-for-36 (from the line) so it had to have an effect somewhat. She did a great job”

Damn he called out our fans for being quiet. Can’t blame him though home games been quiet as hell this year

  2. woodenbike1234

I can’t believe he admitted it damn

  3. jamiecballer

Most missed free throws in an elimination game since 1969. That’s a long time.

  4. SiakamsWager

It’s not an excuse for our awful play down the stretch. We sucked, plain and simple. But Diar had an all-time great performance last night.

What a genuinely embarrassing statement for a professional basketball player to make publicly. “She did a great job”???

I know everyone’s laughing about it now, but a single person yelling is all it takes to *significantly* throw you off your game? These guys are softer than tissue paper. Yikes.

  6. TJStrawberry

It 100% affected them and that’s crazy. I’m interested to see if she does it again against Miami

  7. AogamiBunka

Balkan dad would have smacked that child hard.

  8. PlumCantaloupe

    Game recognize game 😅

Remember, a part of Scottie’s close out technique is to yell lol.

  9. OtisKaplan

It wouldn’t have affected Kawhi. Our guys are just weak. Idgaf. Make the damn free throws 18/36 is ridiculous. Siakam always misses anyway.

  10. DeRozan coming in saying he didn’t want to be the villian. Well…… you certainly didn’t come looking like a good guy letting your daughter act like that. That’s some bad sportsmanship. We get being hyped but she was the only one screaming like that. That was some real ugly sportsmanship like conduct. Why her mother didn’t say something is beyond me. That’s a bad look when you’re trying to keep a legacy fan base in Toronto.

Edit: if there was other fans participating in screaming no big deal. She was the lone one. Was pure bad spirit. I mean you have Russell Westbrook ejecting fans for saying westbrick or rocking the baby motion. Our players and building had enough class to let her sit and stay. Her mother or herself could of had enough class to stop after the first few times.

And our team could be more mentally motivated and strong. But seems like we need a leader on our bench and someone in that role. We don’t have that. We don’t have a real strong captain at the helm. We can draft the next MJ or LeBron all we want. But unless we have leadership we won’t go anywhere.

Honestly, I’ve always thought that it’s weird we’re quiet during free throws. Makes it way more tense for the player.

Lmao a 10 year old got in their heads idk why but that’s hilarious to me. Seriously she’ll be able to pass that story down generations. She single handely was louder than 20000 other fans while also shit screaming her dads team to a win over his former…. That’s stuff of legend. shout out Scottie for admitting it at least he didn’t say that bullshit pascal did “o I didn’t hear it, had no affect” Lmaooo gtfoh you know damn well it did

  13. awwwyeahaquaman

I mean at least the young guy can be honest about it. He shot the best percentage of all the starters (4-7, 57%) so maybe he feels like he can be the most candid

  14. doihave2dothis

I still can’t believe how soft the building fans were last night. DD starts shrieking and not one fan thought to try and drown her out with…oh I don’t know, cheering louder??!!?? FFS

  15. TayOs1998

Even Scotties saying Play-in for what 😂

  16. Desertsprinter

The DeRozan family is undoubtedly connected to this City forever lmfao

  17. BlowCokeUpMyAss

If she wasn’t Demars daughter security would have told her to calm down. I’ve seen Raptors fans get told to tone it down when they’re screaming at opposing players in game. Heck Booker even waived off our maskot during free-throws because it was too distracting lmfao NBA players are used to loud noises in the crowd and the white balloon things, its basically white noise. They’ve been seeing it their whole career. A little girl screaming like shes being murdered when the home crowd goes quiet during free throws is wildly distracting. Pretty messed up that she was allowed to do that tbh But lets be real, we were going to get killed first round if we got past MIA too anyway. Just a matter of time anyway

  18. OddTicket7

I have a hard time believing some of you butt hurt babies. Most of us get the point. She did a fantastic job. We should have made our free throws. All year. End of story.

  19. Imagine if you paid thousands to sit near her lmao how do you not shut your kid up after a while out of respect for other fans

  20. Vandelay23

Kind of hoping someone does this to the Bulls in Miami.

  21. Equivalent_Fox_1546

This team is soft as butter and very mentally fragile if a little girl screaming had an effect on their FT’s.

  22. nin_culus

swear i saw one of them twitching at the ft line

  23. Moostronus

Masai sign Diar to a contract for next season pls

  24. Agreed_fact

Even if she influenced 3 free throws…that was the difference. It’s more of an indictment on the raptors that they can be so easily pressured into a miss than a credit to a child who screams louder than an average fan.

  25. excuses, still was up by 19 despite all of that; and still found a way to choke. weak af.

  26. imdahman

Cool. That’s the right response if that’s the case. Yah she did it, yah they heard it. It’s part of the game and if it did have an effect, good for her and good job!

  27. boring_tomato

One of the most embarrassing ways to end the season tbh

  28. Lewro29

This is a different response than Pascal.

  29. motherseffinjones

Sorry but it’s allowed and part of the game as far as I’m concerned blame MLSE for her seating. Fans are allowed to make noise and what do you think home field advantage is suppose to be. It stings but the teams for air other reasons too.
