Jevon Carter shot 20/42 (47.6%) on transition pull up three-pointers. That’s a better shooting percentage than Stephen Curry 9/30 (30%) or Klay Thompson 12/26 (46%). In fact, it’s good for the 8th best percentage on the 3rd most amount of shots.

Was listening to the [Jevon interview with Zora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w76UEFM0Euo&t=1s) (highly recommend by the way) and she mentioned the he was above 40% for threes but also above 40% on transition pull-up threes.

The eye test led me to believe that he had a high 3P% on transition pull-up threes, but I wanted to know for sure. So, to figure out, I went on [the-high-low.com](https://the-high-low.com) website (highly recommend for highlights and finding plays) and [searched for 3PA makes and misses for Jevon Carter](https://thehighlow.io/video/player/nba/2022-23/1628975/make3p,make3pa,miss3p?ordsq=&shotFilters=), and then added the “running pullup” query to it. From this I got the results in the title – 20/42 (47.6%).

Quick note: Not all of them are straight up transition pull-up threes, but most of them are so I chose to just take the data as is.

I then wanted to see how this compared to the rest of the league, so I wrote a little script in selenium in Python to find out the shooting % for every player. I only counted players that attempted at least 15 shots.

Here are the results:

In this table, it’s clear that only Kyrie and Bane are on a similar level to Jevon, with the others that take a similar amount of shots having a bad percentage. (Shotout Trae Young for letting it fly).

All of this to say it’s crazy how good Jevon is at shooting this type of shot, and if he keeps making them in the playoffs, then let it fly. A 48% 3PT shot is always worth taking.
