What stood out to you guys most about the exit interviews?

So, first things first. I guess we didn’t get any media availability from CJ, BI, or Zion. Maybe they are coutning Zion’s interview a few days ago as his media availability? Not sure why we didn’t get to hear from CJ or BI, maybe I missed something there.

Concerning the exit interviews…

Larrys’ interview, which you can watch here https://youtu.be/oStayVo3So0.

– His comments on Zion are interesting. They don’t seem to focus on diet or physical conditioning but rather discuss the price of fame and what sounds like mental health struggles that Zion might be going through. In another interview that Antonio Daniels did with Rob Parker and Chris Broussard, you can watch that here https://youtu.be/uiLbs38zLX8, at the very, very end AD makes a passing comment that ‘you can’t make a man open up to a professional about their mental struggles’. Or something to that effect. It seems like enough people are commenting on the fact that Zion is struggling with mental health issues regarding fame and constantly being injured. It will be interesting to see how this is navigated by Zion and the Pels.

In coach Green’s interview, which you can watch here https://youtu.be/hB_hwY1gxrI.

– He was asked by our very own Shamit Dua, don’t remember his reddit username… admiral something, regarding analytics. Willie mentions trying to increase the volume of three point attempts, which was a point of emphasis he touched on throughout the season. Quickly mentions getting shot attempts up to 15th in the league vs bottom 5 could be huge in increasing the offensive production. I think everyone can aggree we would love for the team to make some moves to bring in some shooters. We can’t have guys coming off the bench that can’t shoot. We have too many defenisve oriented wings/guards.

So what did you guys find interesting?

Don’t leave out griffin. He talked about how ESPN was telling him even before they drafted zion that they wanted nola with 30+ nationally televised games per season. Talk about pressure.

I feel like injuries ries forced players into roles that weren’t optimal for them. CJ was supposed to be the third option. He ends up being the first option or second option for most of the season while hurt. We had to put BI and Herb in the frontcourt more often.
Naji was shooting well early in the season. Seems like it fell off when we needed him to ball handle more.

It’s a young team, and I think confidence is a big thing for them. I believe Herb/Daniels both have the ability to score and shoot more than they have. Just need more confidence and development.

Zion’s interview was the other day, BI already left, and CJ wrote a diary for his exit. All need surgery. Griff’s a used car salesman, Willie is a lame duck coach.

CJ surgery won’t affect training camp.

I was optimistic about willie’s I hope he can grow and become a better coach

I actually like griff he gets a lot of hate but I felt like he was as frustrated as we were

Just my opinions haven’t got to watch all the interviews yet

Griff had a great interview. He talks about everything except roster construction specifically but he does allude to it not being enough. One important thing he mentions is our main guys being so hurt that we blew the wheels off of the guys off the bench. Also mentions how difficult it was for Willie because of their lack of health.

Wanted to Griff the benefit of the doubt, but he’s just keeping to the script and using the same excuses over and over again. If the team construction is the same next season and Zion continues to take 4-6 months to work himself back into shape after hamstring issues, we are utterly screwed. His stubbornness will be the end of the franchise.
