No reason he shouldn’t start next year so hopefully that won’t be a long part of the conversation
He’s absolutely earned the starting spot. But it might be better to get a real tested pg from the market.
If he wants to be a starter give him the starting position. The fans are tired of seeing this franchise draft talented players but then being forced to watch them flourish on another team

It’s a good goal to have, and as a 7th overall pick, you wouldn’t expect him to say anything less, but if that’s his “take it or leave it” schpeel to the FO, he is delusional.
This guy made some improvements, but that isn’t really saying much, because he was literally one of the worst defensive guards in the entire NBA. So, he had nowhere to go besides the G-League, or up. He works hard, but his tiny wingspan & small hands will always limit him. He has a lot to overcome if he wants to be a starter, never mind a starter on a winning team
He wouldn’t be logging any minutes on any of the top 10-12 teams.
Seeing his improvement makes me feel okay with a complete reset if management goes that route, I want him and Pat to get some touches.

I always said we should’ve been building around Coby and Lauri from day one. But whatevs
0 reason he isn’t day one starting PG. took care of his handles, play making, & defense. Can be a absolute deadly shooter. Why not? Lonzo is never coming back

Give him the spot and let’s see what he can do with more minutes. Lonzo Ball won’t be ready for that level of play immediately so he can share time with Coby when Ball gets back. Sign a veteran in the meantime who can help out and I’m sold. Respectfully, I would prefer to not bring back PatBev.
I wonder if Billy not keeping Coby in a game where he is shooting hot will play into his decision.
