Inside story of LeBron’s infamous “Decision,” move to Miami Heat from Cavaliers | Colin Cowherd NBA

Jeff Benedict, author of the new book ‘LeBron,’ gives Colin Cowherd inside details on how “The Decision” backfired, and how LeBron James reacted to the blowback from his controversial move to the Miami Heat from the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010. Jeff also discusses how the Miami Heat landed the NBA superstar (and how the Knicks blew it), why the loss to the Mavericks in the NBA Finals was LeBron’s lowest point, LeBron’s first encounter with basketball legend Michael Jordan, and why you can’t blame LeBron for the rise of the superteam.

  1. Lebron certainly was not considered better than Kobe before he left Cleveland the first time . Kobe was coming off 2 chips WITHOUT Shaq

  2. This is literally EXACTLY what I said and why I'm glad Miami wound up getting Lebron James. The Knicks/Nets pitched him New York, so high off their own farts thinking that would sell Lebron when he wanted rings. Pat Riley built a team that was ready to win rings, which is what Lebron wanted. No bullshit, no fluff, no selling other frills he didn't care about.

  3. Miami got LeBron because Wade averaged 27ppg 7apg 5rpg as a top 3-5 player in the league the year before while leading a less than average team to 47 wins plus he knew Riley was trying to get Bosh too who averaged 24ppg & 11rpg. Pre the 2011 season, on paper, the only teams that could compete with that was Kobe & Pau and an older KG, Pierce, & Allen. At the time, it was the easy way out & weakest move ever by a superstar player until KD went to the Warriors.

  4. Lebron was the only person NOT to speak out about China.
This isn’t to be lauded. This is rank hypocrisy.
Lebron gets lots of unjustified criticism. It’s often unfair. But his selective, financially-driven outrage absolutely looks hypocritical. His silence on China is culpable.

  5. What a fantastic interview. I was so engaged with the whole thing didn’t even realize it had been 52 minutes when it was all said and done.

  6. Great comment about super teams and now that they have that new CBA agreement those are going to be a thing of a past 😮

  7. Even if u don't like lebron u can't deny he's one if the greatest and a living legend. Lebron haters take it way overboard when they say no one cares or he's not that good. I bet there's a moment in your team's history that he left you crying g because he's beaten you In the playoffs or any other time that's probably why

  8. When did Cowherd become a Lebron stan? he keeps taking weird and unjustified shots at MJ. "MJ makes MJ rich" — does he not understand the role Michael played in the ascent of Nike as the ultimate sports-lifestyle brand? Does CC not see who's logo Lebron is wearing on his Lakers jersey?

  9. Bob Dylan started to get noticed in the Greenwich Connecticut, it's gotta be a nice place but I'll bet that place is as white as a sheet

  10. I think 🤔 "LeBron knew he was the greatest player on the planet 🌎 " when he tattooed Chosen One on his body.

  11. This is journalism! Not the current players or so called journalist talking shit and stupid political matters!

  12. For all of the talk that Bron is a master manipulator of the media, he does seem to step on a lot of self-placed rakes.

  13. As Colin likes to use food analogies, this interview was a deli meat sandwich on Asiago bread. You’re excited to begin eating it and you lament when you’re down to the last bite.
