@Toronto Raptors

Ujiri is a great scout

Maybe his best aspect as a GM is what he started as, a scout. He’s hit on a high percentage of first round picks.

I expect a good pick at 13. It’s too bad raptors haven’t stacked first round picks at all and even traded some. Kawhi trade aside, keeping picks needs to be a higher priority. Dumping carroll’s contract, Thad trade, etc.

It’ll be nice to add some young talent around Barnes.

    Too bad he’s developed a fetish for trading picks to the Spurs at every opportunity

    I’m excited for this off-season, unlike many others. There’s quite a few opportunities for us to trade for an extra lottery pick, and even if we don’t, we have a damn lottery pick for the 2nd time since drafting Poeltl!

    Lots of very interesting options at 13 and I’m excited to see what we do with it.

    I thought he was washed up because he traded for Thad and Koloko

    Well we can’t prove it anymore with the way our picks are getting traded

    He did great scouting on Malachi Flynn

    He’s definitely had a nice drafting record. There have been some misses, but late FRPs/SRPs rarely pan out. He’s also been able to draft solid NBA players with later picks in OG (23), and Pascal (27). Also have to give them credit for passing on Suggs, who was solidly in the top 4 discussion before the Raptors went with Barnes instead.

    This is why it’s absolutely mind-boggling why he keeps trading picks instead of accumulating them.

    Dan Tolzman who is head of our player development should get a lot of credit here.

    Masai is an unbelieveable scout but his bias for African players has been pretty annoying as of late.

    I remember seeing a video of him during his first year when we didn’t have a draft pick.

    He was trying very hard to get back into the draft so that he could get Giannis

    I think his exact words were “we believe this young man will be one of the best players in the league in 3 to 5 years”
    Something like that.

    Masai been catching some heat but I love him. I’m happy he’s in charge and represents the team and the country. Go Masai!
