Why Every NBA Teammate Hates This One Player

Rudy Gobert’s own teammates hate him in the NBA. ✅ Check out PrizePicks: https://bit.ly/PrizePicksMJ2K Promo Code: MJ2K

Apparently, Kyle Anderson told Gobert to block some shots even though he was hurt, Gobert said to get some rebounds, Anderson told Gobert to shut up and then Gobert threw a punch.

Kyle Anderson did not care and Gobert ran away…Remember when Gobert was saying he was gonna box and said if somebody wants to fight, I’m easy to reach…

The Timberwolves suspended Gobert for one game which was the play-in tournament game which they lost, but honestly looked better without Gobert.

Now the description might not even be true, but this isn’t even the first time Rudy has acted out like this. Sure he’s a 3 time defensive player of the year. Surely that has to mean something right. That he’s respected, that he’s one of the best players in the league. Wrong.

Because time and time again, Rudy has cried for recognition. No, I mean seriously cry like when he was in tears about not making the 2019 All-star game.

Still, Gobert got traded for Malik Beaslet, Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Bolmaro, Kessler, 4 first round picks and a first round pick swap…Bro this package comparable to KD.

Even his own teammates have hated him which we’re gonna show the receipts, but when it matters the most Gobert has failed and taken teams down with him. To the point where his value has been questioned, and the rest of the NBA knows it.

We’re not that far removed from the 2021 playoffs where Gobert, especially in Game 7, was played out of the game on the defensive end. Yeah you heard me, a defensive player of the year was the biggest weakness in the Jazz defense.

The idea behind the Jazz’s defense was for Gobert to defend the paint and against the Clippers, he got a train ran on him. He got dunked on, layed up on, and then as part of the defensive plan, let Terrence Mann shoot open 3s all the way to 39 points. Gobert was rendered useless in the modern day 5 out offense.

In fact, we even take a look at his turnovers per touch, it’s extremely high. Compare that to Embiid, Jokic, Vucevic, centers that get more offensive attention and doubles, Gobert is struggling.

The Timberwolves lead the entire NBA in technicals.

Having both Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony Towns on the floor at the same time has been an experiment gone weird.

But don’t take my word or Thinking Basketball’s, just look at the frustration of the Timberwolves players. And the problem isn’t that Rudy Gobert is a useless basketball player. Heck no, he is a shot blocking presence that alters several shots with a 7’ 9” wingspan…

But even his own teammate Anthony Edwards isn’t scared of Gobert…

You don’t become a time defensive player of the year randomly nor do you become a 4 time ALL-NBA player with that basic of an offense, but the Jazz also gave Gobert a 5 year $205 million contract that Shaq was clowning earlier in this video which at the time was considered a crazy contract. And now the Timberwolves are stuck with a guy that for 3 more years will make over $40 million a year despite not having showed a true effectiveness in the playoffs and with big concerns going forward.

The problem is what the Timberwolves gave up for him and I don’t think anyone is giving up 4 first rounders and solid players for Rudy now. The Timberwolves expected this to be the season to push the Timberwolves into some form of contention. D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, KAT, and Gobert with an interchangeable 3.

And maybe you have hope that the Timberwolves figure it out since Karl Anthony Towns only played 29 games and with D’Angelo a weaker perimeter defender out of there but what if I told you that Gobert’s history with teammates says otherwise. Specifically Donovan Mitchell.

Donovan was drafted in 2017 by the Nuggets and traded to the Jazz. Fun fact, Rudy was also drafted by the Nuggets and then traded to the Jazz. And in Donovan’s first year after the Jazz just lost Gordon Hayward, Donovan carries the team’s offense in the playoffs averaging over 20 in his rookie year. It looked like Rudy and Donovan together could ge tthe Jazz far. But in 2020 in the beginning stages of the COVID outbreak, players and the team were tleling Rudy to take it a bit more seriously. In fact even though players were informed to take precaution, Rudy touched other players and their belongings as a joke.

Yes he has apologized publicly for his prior actions. But until his teammates truly feel that level, for a play style that relies heavily on being in sync with his teammates, the Timberwolves are stuck.

  1. They won and are now on the playoffs bro!💯 what are you talking about

  2. Gilbert has great off ball help defense – his on ball defense can be beat with quick offensive feet.

  3. Ant has a bright future. The nerves got him during the game vs the lakers. Wish this man all the best

  4. You americans just HATE on Gobert and will not guive him any props for any fucking thing. I dont deny his defaults but for real there is an obvious global overall hate. You youtubers oftenly brag about not guiving us the usual nba media point of view but when it's about "Gobert is bad " here you just repeat the same shit without any care in the world. Pathetic overall attitude, you guys dont deserve a to have a defensive talent like him in america. With european rules he would be a massive threat if he goes back to play in Europe.

  5. I mean Gobert is not wrong. Jimmy Butler even said Timberwolves don’t want to compete. Come on now if more than one allstar said it what you expect from the team.

  6. I'm far from a Rudy G. apologist but the punch he threw, to my eyes, didn't look like it was thrown to do damage. Thankfully, he didn't aim at Anderson's face…like Draymond Green would do.

  7. When everything goes wrong, blame rudy. That's the motto of everyone.
Rudy should not have apologized to Kyle anderson. You dont talk to your teammates like that but he didnt get punished.
Now I think the entire roster is gonna turn their back on rudy and that's sad.
I've seen to many games where when rebounding, gobert has to hustle over 3 guys to try to get the rebound while everyone just watches, they dont box out and then rudy looks bad.
They know gobert isnt a good shot creator most the time but they still give him the ball to try it.
It is clear from his track record, its just not in his game to do that.
The team looking better without gobert? I disagree, because if gobert was playing against the lakers, the lakers would have lost that game

  8. MJ, Why u got to be a casual bro.
If anyone actually wants an intelligent breakdown of Gobert's value. Go watch Thinking Basketball.

  9. Gobert clearly wasnt running he was pushed back immediately after punching Kyle. Im no Gober fan but just call a spade a spade

Also, thats a weird take for Jazz Gobert he wasnt perfect yeah but he was clearly the best defender on the team. That Jazz squad was the Worst perimeter defending team ive ever seen and they really just told Gobert to clean up their mess

Once again, he still has trouble on the perimeter but come on call a spade a spade

  10. Baguette
I'm a Jazz Fan. I've watched Rudy for years. We were relying on him to cover up our awful perimeter d. Countless times Rudy would have a mismatch under the rim and wouldn't get the ball. Donovan taking pull ups and dribbling the shot clock didn't help. Ok he fumbles passes, I get that. BUT the disrespect on his name is unwarranted. I'm not condoning violence, but being in his position must be frustrating. Elite rim protector.

  11. yeah giving a max contract to the core piece of a constant top 5 seed team is totally ridiculous, I don't know what the Jazz were thinking, definitely no one is throwing a max contract to a 3x DPOY in this league where Kyle Kuzma can get a max contract, nah the Jazz definitely fucked up on this one

  12. Bro but kyle acts like he’s the shit why he anit act like that to anyone from the spurs when he was riding the bench or the grizzlies why❤cause he’s a nobody y’all bash Rudy but it isn’t his fault he got paid all that money or it wasn’t his fault the wolves are a horrible franchise, and don’t know how to make decisions

  13. You're hating bro….I would've punched his ass too!! All Rudy said was get some rebounds and lil boy lost his cool and disrespected

  14. I hoesntly don't know how he is still in the league for purposly touching all those microphones claiming Covid wasn't real, and then eneed up testing positive for Covid.

  15. The whole “Rudy ran away” is bogus. It’s obvious his teammates push him and keep him back.

His impact on the game isn’t always seen. There isn’t a stat for how many times players run into the paint just to see him and immediately evacuate. His presence is REAL. He’s a 3 time DPOY for a reason.

His handle is non existent and offense lackluster. But he will always be an ELITE defender. Stop hating.

  16. Dude is the best defensive center of all time and it's not even close according to the stats. I want that crybaby on my squad…

  17. Till when are we stop blaming Gobert on a virus that was everywhere and millions got infected with non related at all with him?

  18. Wish he would just leave the Wolves. They got worse this season with him. Such a terrible trade and he's regressing as a player

  19. Funny how this monkeys who do not even know how to play ball talk about how bad nba players play
