David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider continues to expand his numbers system for NBA Draft prospects with threshold levels of concern. The 2023 draft class has more players sliding under these numbers than before. Should this be concern that this is a bad draft class? Have Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson distracted us from a bad draft class with all their glory?
Locke looks at these levels and the projected picks of the draft 1-19 to see where the numbers align. A few of the players in 14-19 range show some really good signs of the numbers and may very well be the picks for the Jazz both at 9 as well as 16.

That bad ones always end up being the best
Gradey Dick is my pick outside of Victor. I think he will go higher than expected maybe even top 5.
This possibility of having a few overvalued players (athleticism, shooting, etc.) could mean that the opportunity for a team that evaluates talent at an elite level to gain more value out of their middle to late round draft picks. Assuming the Jazz know who they want, and are right in the evaluation, this is a chance to exceed draft expectations this year.
