Love these breakdowns. Helps me see the games in so much more depth.

Love how Hauser has responded to the challenge over the course of the season. He’s legitimately a plus defender IMO. Certainly way above average for a pure shooter. This team is so deep and so well coached.

Is this from last nights game?

I get the sentiment, but I doubt trae was looking to be aggressive here. Based on the time they were certainly holding for last shot.

Is pre switching in this case the same thing as a hard hedge into a trap or is it something different?

Young looks so defeated in these games, on top of this they box him out on offense. I love watching Rob just shove him out of the way

ok this is interesting…i was noticing switching that seemed a little…awkward (??) to me during the game. particularly when a bigger guy would end up on one of the guards, usually Young. i wonder if this relates to that or if i was just baked

One of the reasons our defense works so well is that not only are they all physically good, the collective defensive IQ is off the charts. No one in our rotation is a liability when it comes to falling asleep or missing rotations. And of course Smart, White, Rob and Al can all “direct” the switches.
Its why we have so much success doubling players like Embiid- we have great defenders to slow them down, and are great at rotating to minimize any advantage they create.

I saw this in real-time and was explaining to my wife how sick and smart the rotations are. I love the little things about basketball
