@Atlanta Hawks

Interesting fact from Wes (@bloghawk) – the Hawks have the worst eFG% in the playoffs on wide open shots, almost 10% lower than the second worst. Being able to hit those alone would make a huge difference in this series.

    Eye test tells you that. That was the biggest difference in game 2. Not Trae’s shooting, turnovers, Collins bricks, Hunter being ass: this was the biggest culprit.

    We won the possession battle handily, and we’re down 20 with 3 minutes to go. We literally cannot shoot. Generating open looks means nothing when the defense actually wants those guys shooting.

    This has been a season long issue. Hawks don’t have enough steady shot makers, almost everyone is a streaky shooter

  4. FWIW, the Hawks are doing quite well on “open” rather than “wide open” stats. Considering you’re talking about two whole games and that the distinction between 4-6ft and 6ft+ is a bit arbitrary, I wouldn’t recommend drawing major conclusions.

    If you combine the “open” and “wide open” stats, you get a different picture.

    Bogi and Saddiq need to be in the starting lineup. Hunter and Collins are detriments right now on offense and those 2 would at least make some shots. Saddiq has been cold but at least he serves as a threat

    Collins has been getting the “let him shoot” treatment all series and he still can’t hit shots
