Sam Quinn: In two games, the Lakers are now -17 with Anthony Davis on the bench. I can’t say I have a good solution for them, but these small lineups with LeBron at center aren’t working.

No good solution lol, does bamba not exist? We’re not asking to start bamba we’re asking him to play 10 min tops only when AD rests.

  2. BizzyHaze

I’ve been confused why no Bamba or even Tristan Thompson – especially when the Grizz have been dominating the paint when AD is sitting or pulled out of the key.

Can we have 5 minutes of AD & Mo bamba? Just 5 minutes???

  4. officiallydoneiSwear

Trading lebron is the only thing that will save us

  5. imnotknox

I don’t get the aversion to bamba minutes but the extreme long leash on Troy. Like any height for 3 minute bursts would be at least something

Why is Ham so reluctant to play Mo? Just baffling.

  7. victorioussecret7

Ham probably has something against Mo, and he also doesn’t think Thompson is ready

Let’s try putting Austin Reaves at Center

They’ve been net negative with Lebron on the floor period. Lebron lineups, with him at center or not, are not working. Ham is terrible

  10. We will probably see Tristan or Bamba crack the rotation next game

Why do we keep getting fine role players to sit them? Bamba already play minutes post-injury, bro is preparing to be out there only to become a empty asset. He lost most of his time with that ankle sprain, if he doesn’t get minutes here and there for bigger lineups, he has no value on off-season, to keep him or trade him, he’s already overpaid.

It’s pretty obvious what the solution is right? You’ve got two bigs on the bench just sitting. Put in Bamba or Thompson. If they foul a ton, who cares. Right now the benefit of not being completely exposed in the middle outweighs that negative.

Darvin Ham you gotta step up and watch some tapes during Vogel’s era in 2020

Aside from JJJ, Griz are playing short too. But they have more active players, hungry and gritty. Without rim protection, they missed out on rebounds resulting in to easy fastbreak points. Instead of playing Lebron 4/5 without AD, try and let Mo or Wenyen play good 5-10mins while AD sits out. They will play at home next 2 games we should expect more energy so let the crowd feed them off more. Win 2 and can still close out the series at home.

Ham needs to make the adjustment in Game 3 and play Bamba in the non-AD minutes. Non-AD offensive scheme will be essentially the same as what we’re doing now because he’s just going to stand out on the perimeter, so not a crazy adjustment to make.

    Pelinka should’ve traded 2029 pick for a center !!

And ham needs to play Bamba !! As long as he isn’t fouling he can’t be worse than -17 all the time

  17. chriskot123

Yea we know…we have bigs that Ham flat out refuses to play for some reason

  18. whackwarrens

Starting center sits. Bench center plays.
Oh my god. Give me a 5 year contract I solved it.

Other LA team has a sane coach. Maybe we can copy their homework if this is too complicated.

lol it’s not about ad.. yes the center position is a issue for us but why FOUR bench players instead of more players. it’s not only the defense that suffers but they can’t score anything

  20. Ham should have adjusted since Ja wasn’t in, Vando should not get starter minutes. With Rui instead we’re torching them and he should have been in the starting 5 along with AD,Bron,Reeves and DLo we’ve been killing em with that lineup but they’re not getting enough minutes together.

When AD is out it’s too obvious he should have used either Wenyern or Bamba you can’t exepct an SF play a Center vs big bodies that know ball and get good results of it.

The truth no one here wants to hear:

We should have re-signed Dwight Howard.

After the first 2 games, I agree, they need to try something different when AD is out. They’re way too small. Lebron at this age has to save his energy so he doesn’t play defense, and JJJ is too big for Rui to guard consistently. Having Beasley and Troy in there is not helping either, since they’re not providing anything, I’m guessing they’ll put Wenyen in for either Troy or Beasley next game, because they can’t keep doing what they’re doing. Only problem is JJJ will play off of Wenyen so that could be a problem too, but they got to try something when AD is out.

The difference between Ham and Vogel is Vogel would put in bigs to wear the other team down. Ham puts in a small lineup to wear us down.
