They tanked our draft pick by not playing defense, Wally’s comments, and they really are very jealous of Haliburton’s attemtion as a fan base. I listened to an NY pod when C Cooper was on it, you can tell that rivalry is either rekindled or about to be.

I’m a little surprised that Detroit or Milwaukee don’t consider us rivals but I also recognize that our division is built up by teams on vastly different timelines

There is a lot of recency bias in this chart. Goes to show there are only a couple truly cross generational rivalries. Maybe only one true one, Lakers vs Celtics. Almost all of these are unmatched rivalries. We think the Heat are out rival but they don’t think we are. That isn’t a true rivalry. Seems like a lot of teams are just claiming that the team that beats the shit out of them is their rival. If you haven’t been good for the last couple of years, you won’t have any rivals. The Spurs absolutely owned this league for like 20 years and they don’t have a single rival? I don’t value this chart that much.
