it’s not even so much as him missing time, it’s just being hopeful that he’ll be 100% which doesn’t seem likely

I mean, that’s great and all, but for once, I just wish Joel could make it through a post season without some sort of setback. The worst part isn’t the injury itself but year after year it becomes an excuse for when we lose a series. How many more “if Joel was fully healthy, we probably win the game” does this fanbase have to endure? An endless amount of “what ifs?” and coping every single year when we get knocked out.

Joel may be great but he won’t be mentioned with the all-time greats if he never even sniffs the finals.

I mean at this point, if both sixers and celtics sweep, won’t the celtic vs sixers series start a day or two sooner?

If each day matters. The sixers could end up giving embiid more time, if they lose a game or two? Total random guess, but idk.

At this point whatever happens happens. I’m done.

We heard that before. Life really is circular

Celtics/Hawks at least going 5. I think there’s plenty of opportunity with how Brooklyn has played thus far to take tomorrow and rest up. Platoon some different looks at them, empower Maxey to lose his mind and hope Harden is in a shooting mood.

Woj: The injury is fake, he just can’t risk getting seriously injured by these sore losers

Hot take against the doomerism right now but I don’t think this is all that bad. Let’s win this game tomorrow and Joel could potentially get over a week’s worth of rest now that the Celtics series is going at least 5. He’s back by game one after a full week of rest I think he’ll be ok.

So I’m not saying the mri didn’t show that, but after last game I wouldn’t be surprised with how beat up he was if they just rested him for a game. I don’t think the injury is serious at all and if we weren’t up 3-0 there’s zero doubt in my mind he plays tomorrow. Let him get some rest and let the other guys shine, plus these are the people that need to show up against the Celtics. If we can’t finish the nets without Joel we’re in trouble anyway.

This sounds more like he’s out for a week than the “load management” BS people were spitting. 2nd round will start in 10ish days or so.

“Optimism that he wouldn’t miss time in the next round” that is over a week away?

Shocker, this sub was wrong that this isn’t some precautionary minor load management thing. It’s a legit injury. There’s nothing good about this.

This will be the Dedmon game. 22pts 16rb 5ast

It’s a sprained knee. He will be fine in 3-5 days as long as there is no swelling. Considering modern PT equipment and practices, I suspect 95-100% going into the second round.

Doc probably should have pulled him in the 4th last night.

I know joel doesnt want to but it may be time for him to start rocking knee braces or atleast a heavy sleeve full time.

Also, every year we deal with some loser suspect team beating on Embiid in the first round and injuring him. Maybe it’s time we just dont play Embiid against these teams.if the nba isnt going to protect the dude, and it appears they are not, then just dont play him against these inferior teams. The sixers would have won this series in 5 without Embiid.
