[Esnaashari] Russell Westbrook took over 10 shots at the rim and received 0 zero free throws. Kevin Durant took 2 shots at the rim and shot more free throws than the entire Clipper team at 10. If you’re gonna call softer jumper fouls, gotta call it on the other side for Westbrook.

[Russell Westbrook became the 2nd player in NBA playoff history to score at least 37 points without a single free throw attempt. The other was Chuck Person in 1991.](https://twitter.com/TomerAzarly/status/1649893800393965568)

I speak for all of us when I say we need Scott Foster back. That man needs his redemption
That’s crazy he got 0 free throws from that but the clippers killed themselves with dumb turnovers and dumb shots. Gotta be better.
Why did nobody care when we were getting shafted
Why was everyone cheering for Scott Foster to fuck us
Why do you all hate the Suns *so much* lmao
Damn the Suns got the whole NBA world in shambles 😂😂 they all actually crying over this 💀
Durant gets hacked and hand checked off hall and everytime he drives, why is this even a comparison lol.
If you wanna argue westbrook got fouled a bit more sure ig but Durant historically is fouled an insane amount each possession
I thought it was the other way around with the Suns
Yeah , nobody fouls KD on the perimeter by beating him up for ball denial, amirite
[This man is gonna have an all-time, legendary, clutch performance next game.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7BMpjHBFX4).
Tbf if you watch the games Durant gets foulded alot because he is long as hell. You’re trying to hit all ball and hit the wrist or arm or chest area. Westbrook should’ve had atleast 6 fts from what I saw today
This new thing where people think they’re Woodward and bernstein for tweeting about rim attempts and FTs is incredibly annoying.
Most of WB’s layups and dunks were completely un-contested, why would he have gotten fouls when no one contested or touched him? Typical rage baiting bullshit for people who didnt watch the game.
Tbf if you are near KD it’s hard not to foul harm, man’s huge and lengthy
It’s stupid to simplify free throw shooting like this. way too many factors in a game lead to free throws
Were there any actual egregious missed calls on Westbrook’s drives or is this guy just being a homer
Damn they should stop fouling.
If you’re gonna make these claims post clips of the fouls that weren’t called.
he’s consistently beating his defenders to the rim without taking contact. just because he has more shots at the rim doesn’t mean he deserves free throws. please you people need to actually watch the games instead of just looking at tweets and the numbers
Ok, ive said it a few times because it kind of feels like the same situation with dumbasses who dont want our games crying over our FT disparity.
Can anyone show me 1-2 plays where it is OBVIOUS that he was fouled or at least more like 60-40 call the foul? Because while watching the game, I didnt see any obvious misses that the refs made on Russ where they should have sent him to the line.
This kind of feels like a thing where people who didnt watch the game/people watching the game but kind of clueless of how the game is played, looking at the stats afterwards and saying “WHAAAAAT, HE DIDNT GET FOULS? BUT HE ALWAYS DIVES TO THE RIM AND IS AGGRESSIVE, IT JUST MAKES SENSE THAT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOULED”
All I am saying is please provide the evidence, at least 1-2 examples. Ill change my opinion then.
Farbod is one of the worst beat writers of any team period
I’m so tired of this sub always talking about refs like it’s the only thing that matters ever

fucking 12 year olds
Point to a play where he should have gone to the line.
Let’s just have each team shoot 100 free throws. Whoever makes the most wins. Then people can shut up about free throw numbers.
This sub when a team they dislike gets a good whistle: “omg investigate the refs, rigged league, Scott foster joke”
This sub when the clippers get a whistle so bad it hasn’t been seen in 30 years: “lol just don’t foul”
Post all the missed calls then
Can someone post the plays where Westbrook is fouled at the rim or do they just look at stats and be like wtf?
I couldn’t watch the game and can’t verify but ima still get mad about this
Show me all the times Westbrook was fouled on a drive. He blew by guys several times and had open lay ups, not like he was barreling into guys and creating tons of contact
This dude is a horrible journalist
Well for people who actually watched the game you see why this happened lol. People love box score watching and bitching about free throws it’s embarrassing lol
Which plays did Russ get fouled on?
Just cause you drive don’t mean you were fouled. Show the clips
Well generally a foul has to occur for it to be called.
No one was fouling him.
Well because he always tries to evade the defenders mid-air doing his superhuman layups when fundamentally he should try to first win the space between the defender and the basket before he commits for the shot. This is the main reason why he misses so many layups and doesn’t get the calls
Which foul was missed on Westbrook?
I hate this notion that calls have to be equal. Show me the play that didn’t get the foul called, but don’t just say that Russ had 10 less as if that’s evidence
Without context, yes it looks like Westbrook got ripped off with calls.
But if you actually watched the game… Suns gave him the lane a lot of times. Literally all those 10 layups were uncontested at the 3 feet mark inside the paint… free layups.
Watched a video with the first 6 drives to the basket basically layups and uncontested dunks. Other drives to the rim had barely any contact. Just cuz KD gets them, doesn’t mean Brick deserves them too. If this the case, LeBron and AD better get 15+ attempts each tonight.
Why does the discussion around free throws always treat them like a random variable that should even out across teams? They are dependent on play style and strategy just as much as the refs
I hate, hate, hate people like this. Volume of shots does not dictate fouls called, getting fouled does. Maybe, just maybe, KD gets fouled more often on jump shots than Westbrook does because defense has to actually try against KD when he shoots.
Nobody in this thread watched the actual game
This is homer level material. You have no actual evidence of egregious non calls.
Mods keep removing it but heres every Westbrook FGA:
https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&ContextMeasure=FGA&EndPeriod=0&EndRange=28800&GameID=0042200174&PlayerID=201566&RangeType=0&Season=2022-23&SeasonType=Playoffs&StartPeriod=0&StartRange=0&TeamID=1610612746&flag=3&sct=plot§ion=game
So was Russ actually fouled or not? Like this whole ‘calls have to be even’ thing all falls apart if one team just plays very disciplined defense.
