I will be breaking down details of the latest rumors surrounding the Toronto Raptors. Damian Lillard is being linked to several eastern conference teams and one of them happen to be the Toronto Raptors. I will be breaking every detail down about Damian and discussing if he fits with the Raptors or not. In other news many different names were being linked to the Raptors head coaching job.

The Raptors are in such a weird spot right now. They could go in so many different directions. The question is, which one?
Lillard is 32 years old. Lillard has never been a winner. Curry wins championships, Lillard does not. The Raps have no depth, and would have to trade what little we have to trade for him. Masai, and fans said they did not enjoy watching the Raps style of play. Fred was often called a very poor mans Lillard. Do we really want an old shot jacker? Trading for Lillard makes no sense at all for the Raps, and we be a really stupid move.
Nah bro, I don't think Dame is the right play. Don't get me wrong, he's awesome; but he costs a lot so we would have to give up a ton of assets, and I don't think his level of play will stay at a high level for long based on his age. It's a bit risky because we are still trying to build up our bench unit which practically missed out on a year of development. If we are going to make a potential move, I'd like to try and get Jaylen Brown if he becomes available.
Where do we go from here? Build around Barnes? And who will be our next HC?

Ime turned down the interview, not the job. Most likely the reason he turned down the interview was because he already decided to go to Houston. Nurse was let got late last week, they would interview him and others first and then offer a job. No chance they offer a job without interviewing and no chance they interview only one person. People want to turn this into Everyone Hates Toronto again when it's not true.

Lillard is a great offensive player but Raps need a guard who can defend their position. Contract is too cumbersome to take on. So hard pass on Dame.

My guess is Adrian Griffin, Jerry Stackhouse, and even Rico Hines are the top choices.
They don't have assets to get Dame. If Portland trades him they want pics not player and definitely wouldn't want Fred as Simmons would start at point with Sharpe no use for him. They would also want Barnes.

A few things:
1. Ime was never going to come here nor were we ever interested in signing him. Woj pushed the news heavy that the raptors were linked to ime, that was a ploy so another team would get desperate and offer him a deal. Woj also broke the hiring news, coincidence?
2. Our next coach will most likely be a promotion from within. Ideally Griffin, with Gleeson getting full reign of the offense.
3. Dame Lillard makes $60M, one player making that much gets them the record they have. A few players making that much gets us the record we have. Dame isn't worth the $60M handicap we will be placing on ourselves, he also isn't touted as a two way player and will be a defensive downgrade by bringing him on board. I'm quite partial to getting Shai over here instead.
If the raptors are getting lillard 100% pascal will be included in the deal. Heās 4 years younger than lillard. And with Anfernee simons and shaedon shadow he fits perfect

I love the idea of Dame on the court with our top players, as it seems like we could use a closer and a shot maker. It makes sense until you look at the books. also Nurse did not develop any of our young talent and trade pieces. what do we have that portland could use honestly? If we had pieces to trade in the first place.. Glad we retained Griff I think he's awesome.
