There is parity for a championship in the league for teams with actual superstars on the team. We are not one of those teams

“What does Masai Ujiri see in his Raptors that others do not?”

My guy needs to change his display picture. Looks like some troll doll from the covid days.

  4. mMounirM

ok this is mostly about what he already said in the press conference. still think a retool is happening

  5. Massive_Secretary658

Every other team had to take steps backwards to get to where they’re at now. What makes the raptors so special?? Masai should start trusting the process instead of trying to force success

I was actually telling my friend last night we might see 2 play in teams pull off an upset and Masai at home is probably going SEE ANY TEAM CAN WIN

  7. RZAAMRIINF

Told you all his press interview gave me the impression that he is running it back with a different coach.

The parity talk and him praising most of our core was a sign that he believes this team is not that far 🤷‍♂️

  8. OGnotAnunoby

So he’s running this back lol I’m guessing they are going to trade OG

  9. TreChomes

I swear to fucking god if I have to keep watching Fred vanvleet im going to jump off the nearest bridge

  10. keeeeener

A retool can still very well mean trading vanvleet or even Siakam. Just means it won’t be for picks.

  11. Sins_of_God

I knew he never had intentions of rebuilding. Fucking delusions of grandeur with this core lol

  12. SadOpportunity9825

Heavy bet on the power of culture = trade our FRP and Boucher for Xavier Sneed and McKinley Wright IV. Can’t wait.

  13. crackhousebob

Any NBA championship team needs at least one superstar. FVV thinks he’s Dame but Dame would hit half of those ‘logo 3’s’ FVV launches at a 25% clip.

  14. attilajg

Nah man, can’t keep just saying the same thing. Has he looked at any of the additions we’ve made? Barring Jak, we’ve got nothing helpful.

  15. This isn’t as outlandish as it seems. Really it just means that any move we make (including a Siakam or OG trade) should mean we’re about a 6th to 8th seed next season.

But, hopefully that move just increases our ceiling going forward.

I think trading pascal would keep the record we got this season, and start a different culture around OG & Scottie

Fundamentally the biggest divide between the fan base and management:

Fans: what we have isn’t good enough

Mgmt: we don’t actually know what we have, or know enough to properly assess

  18. jovijovi99

Man said Jakob Poeltl was a championship piece I wouldn’t even put us past the Pacers 😂

  19. ScotlandBarnes

Masai is delusional. The Raptors will not even be close to winning as long as Embiid is in Philly, Giannis is in Milwaukee, and Tatum is in Boston.

I won’t even comment on the Knicks, Heat, Cavs who are more promising and have a way higher chance of signing free agents than we do.

  20. wicked_crayfish

Uhh…he has to go get Leonard to finally win. Was that because of parity or because the level of talent is not dispersed evenly across the league so you have to load up in order to win..

  21. app1efritter

That’s cool. Drop the ticket prices by 50%.

  22. LetterheadForeign707

wow… I mean you’d think he would stop believing in this team when they are 26-30 at the deadline right??? wanna give them another chance? ok give them a center and see how they do. Now they’re 41-41 and miss the play-in. Okay now Masai MUST not believe in this team he’s given them every chance to prove themselves and they have failed every chance RIGHT??? I mean even the FANS see that this team IS NOT COMPETITIVE. We ran it back last year and did shitty, what makes him think that running it back again will get us a different result? This front office is SO frustrating, they just keep ignoring the inevitability of having to rebuild. There is nothing to look forward to about this roster outside of scottie. I fear Masais gonna disappoint us once again and run it back. He’s really hurting this franchise by delaying the inevitable rebuild.

  23. danger_zones

This core has until Siakams and OG’s extension before avoiding the luxury tax becomes impossible. Scotties max extension one season after that will gut the teams finances. He’s either delusional or doing a bad job at bluffing but a rebuild is inevitable

I commented on it before, FO was really trying to focus on trying on fixing whatever culture divide was happening in the locker room last year. Thad Young was an indication. He was specifically brought in to be a locker room leader and vet. To be a glue guy to motivate the team. You listen to his Raptors intro interviews and he clearly indicates that the FO brought him in for his intangibles over play. Rico Hines is another one. He’s close friends with Earl Watson and is a PLAYERS first type coach that holds players accountable. I have a feeling FO knew they were losing the locker room for the last 2 seasons and Nurse wasnt able to do it himself.

Of course they’re taking a step backwards. They won’t see the finals again in forever. They got lucky for a small moment in time……with Kawhi. I’m a raptors fan all the way but this is truth, baby.
