Charles Barkley on Jimmy Butler’s 56 point performance: “That was the best performance I’ve seen since I’ve been on television. It was flat out incredible, it was a honor and privilege to watch it, but man, that guy was not gonna let them lose tonight.”

bucks getting wrecked in the first round

He did it on both ends. Dude matched up with Giannis at the end and told Bam to stay attached to Lopez (after Lopez got the easy alley oop) and locked Giannis up himself. Just mind blowing

I blame chuck for loss because he GARUNNNTEEED that we would win and we know that never ends well

He hates us too, so you know he’s sincere here

For some of you younger fans:

Charles Barkley himself happened to have a 56 point playoff performance of his own. It was in 1994 against Chris Webber and the Golden States Warriors. He shot about 75% and also grabbed 14 rebounds. He swept the Warriors with this win.

Chuck is a funny old guy on TV. But Barkley was a bad man.

I’m somewhat young (27) and that was the best playoff performance I ever saw. Dude was insane on both ends of the floor.

This was the equivalent of Ja’s 4th quarter 2 games ago except it was for all 4 and his team actually won.

  7. Yeah the fact that he did it on both ends, the level of the opponent, the level of the help on his own team, AND that they won the game — I don’t know what other game from the last 25 years would check all those boxes.

When the guy who gives 0 fucks about saying he’s bored of watching the playoffs praises that it was a privilege to watch you, you REALLY balled out

Might actually be better than Lebron vs Celtics 2012 G6. Personally I can’t pick between the two, Lebron had more at stake, but Butler was literally carrying third stringers against the 1 seed. Unreal performances

Incredible performance no doubt but just in the last couple years I don’t know if it beats KD’s game 5 against Milwaukee or Dame’s game 5 against Denver. KD especially contributed in every way possible super efficient 49/17/10 with 3 steals and 2 blocks against the eventual champions with Kyrie out and Harden a one legged decoy

It wasn’t just that he scored 56 points. The last 2 3s were clutch at the end. I was sure Miami had lost when Lowry threw that pass into open space.

Took on the best player in the world and put him and the 4th ranked defense across his knee

Nothing will ever top the 45/15/5 Bron game 6 live viewing for me personally, but this is a totally respectable choice by Chuck.

Jimmy nearly matched his and Bryn Forbes entire series production from that 21 series in just this game.

Jimmy was so hyped last night. I love that energy. Playoffs are so fun

“That guy was not gonna let them lose tonight”

What it felt like when you were watching it happen.

Imagined getting praised by chuck must feel good

  18. YpsitheFlintsider

He also mentioned that he was there for Lebron’s wrecking of the Pistons in whatever year that was

Still trying to figure out why we need a regular season. Get rid of 4 teams and let’s just goto the playoffs each year.

And this is why sleeping on that couch in the Bubble was necessary.

Jimmy is not playing with y’all.

  21. loplopplop

Butler may never get a championship but he’s got to be one of the scariest players to play against ever.

  22. zamiboy

When Barkley says stuff like this, you know he ain’t cappin’.

    Butler destroyed last night.
