2 months ago, Russ’ stock hit an all-time low. The Lakers paid max dollar to get him, and now had to trade away a pick to get rid of him.
The reality was that as much as Russ never fit the Lakers, the Lakers didn’t fit with Russ. But the dominating narrative that came from Lakers was that Russ was a “locker room vampire.”
Fast forward to the playoffs and Russ is the Clipper’s lifeline. Without him, this series may have already ended.
