Understand both perspectives in that the bench was poorly constructed and was not properly developed but at the same time Boucher coming off the new contract had a disappointing year hasn’t been the same since that bubble year. If you really think about it most of the team as a whole took a step back Precious , Gary , Scottie and Freddie. The defining moment was those Magic and Pacers games both teams Toronto destroyed years prior. There must be an acknowledgment of one’s own inconsistencies until each player does that the team will continue to be stagnant. A great example was Fred at no point was he every benched or made to come off the bench for disappointing play.

Yes, the Bench did not consistently produce or perform as well as we hoped for but main reason is Nick Nurse not trusting them for 3 years and not giving them opportunities to play and develop. Many games, especially towards the end of the season, he could have utilized them better and give them more garbage time, but he didn’t🚫😕
I understand why Chris should not speak on this topic because you have a whole year of stats that shows:
——- 2022 – 2023 not including playoffs
33 double digit pts
10 double digit rebounds
9 double doulbles
44 single digit pts including 4 zero pt games
——- 2021 – 2022 not including playoffs
34 double digit pts
12 double digit rebounds
10 double doubles
46 single digit games
Basically averages 9 pts each season. Need to average 15 or more since he is one of the leading bench vets on the team. Yes, NN could have done better but it is more than just giving bench players time. There is choosing effective roster rotations considering NN spent a good amount of time searching instead of developing. There is devising schemes to benefit the bench, we can't expect players to get better by just running up and down the floor so better schemes are needed.

On some real shit non hoopers who never played outside during them runs in NY or any YMCA on the east coast. Or played team ball consistently can relate. I personally don’t view any NBA player as impossible to play against cuz all it takes is consistent work. I’m not dumb if they been working obviously I’m not able to keep up I’m not in gym at this stage but when I was I could hoop with anybody any size. Real hoopers can relate.
