I highly believe Mazzula doesnt want to step on anyones toes but he has to set himself apart from other coaches we've had. Hes following the old game plan of giving tatum the ball in the clutch when we have literally every offensive weapon as an option. He doesnt bench players like smart when he plays bad during the clutch. Realistically Derrick White or Brogdon NEED to be ending games. They are calm and decisive ball handlers. Make a play for Tatum thats not just an iso if you do have him in the clutch. I think a LOT of blame for last games loss falls on Mazzula😪
To me, it’s all irrelevant. This is going to a G6 because Boston was sloppy and didn’t take the Hawks seriously. A few made free throws, better execution and a focused squad & we’re talking about G1 of round 2. They have everything they need but simply can’t get the job done. Tatum is the franchise player and brown is the perfect number 2 who can take over when he needs to. They remind me of Bron and Wade or Curry and KD. Either one can be the best scorer, either one can finish they game when need be. Not really a Batman and Robin, more like equals. Tatum is one of the most clutch players ever, statistically. If you need I can post it. I agree with your take, this series has been more consistent for Brown, Tatum needs to be that all around player we know he is. Tatum in the second half shot great, just turn overs and emotions got the best of him. We have two top 15-18 guys (IMO). Tatum was a Top 5 player this year and in MVP voting, he is that guy and has proven it. Give it to either guy in the clutch, it just has to be the most consistent out of the two. Not a tangent, just a opinion. Just a bad closing by “The Team” not just one guy. Team sport and the team failed in the end. Tatum had a bad finals this past year, happens to the best, and that may be effecting him. Teams will triple team Tatum, he will be fouled and they may not get called, he may have a off stretch or quarter or half or even game. He cares to much and shows emotion, that’s love for the game, his team, etc.

The Tatum thing has been happening for the past 4 years, and the majority of the games where the Celtics have chocked is because of this style of play in where everything goes through Tatum. People have said, and including you Tom that you didn't trust Jaylen Brown because at times at the end of games he is no where to be found….but the reason is that he is put on the corner so that Tatum can score….this is on Stevens, Udoka and now Mazulla because for the past 4 to 5 years they continue playing like this…this works when Tatum is playing well, but when he isn't, it tends to kill the team.

Tatum takes too many outside shots for a person who is a below average shooter. Treating Tatum like a top 5 player in the NBA is equivalent to trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Low-IQ Tatum singlehandedly kills this team time and again.

The hawks are also shooting hot from 3. We need to lock in on perimeter defense. Theres no reason half their team should be shooting such a high 3pt efficiency with the perimeter degenders we have. Get the hawks under 110 points and you should win

John was disrespecting the hawks on many levels every game smh we know Trae young’s play style is not a winning playstyle at times but rq Toms lying out of his teeth he may have had kinda predicted that this was going 6 games but John didn’t he said sweep or 5 I’m not letting him get away with that one smh but anyways back to the point the hawks are a good team and do have depth but especially during the reg szn they didn’t play much team ball and defense. But they play to their strengths ever since the play in especially on the offensive glass. How much you or even I aren’t a trae young fan he’s averaging 25&9 for his career for a reason, shot selection may not be good but he scores and passes on the highest level in the league. There is no reason we shouldn’t win this series but only reason I said it was gonna be kind of long and is confused why people are surprised but what we saw yesterday is the same and one of the many bad habits we shown All year especially with closing out tight games and execution. And when the ball is in Marcus smarts hands in clutch situations either good lucky things happen or really bad things happen. As much as we need some of his attributes in those tight situations we have arguably 2 better players that can replace him in those situations, too many times he has made bad, erratic, questionable decisions time and time again. I rather is execute and miss the shot then not execute and get a chance to score. I get he’s our leader but we need a kool, high iq ball handler in those situations and he’s arguably the 3rd best one out of the group. JT was inconsistent which he is a lot in terms of efficiency has too many of these kind of games for a superstar.. when JB has it going like he did put the ball in his hands or run more plays for him down the stretch. Even if we lose games like this it’s worrisome how we lose when we have a chance to win but they can’t execute under in pressure. I expect us to win the series but like last year unless mazulla gets better in these situations and the team in total starts executing in pressured situations more often then not it will be more like last year is making series more harder then it has to be and we losing a series by the same old mistakes or because guys are gassed due to not ending series much sooner then later which is what will be our demise on a year we should win
