Ime Udoka feared his Boston story would be brought up regularly in Toronto, because of the team’s woke reputation.

    Lmao doesn’t sound real but if so that’s hilarious

    What? Ugh, I really hate this “woke” terminology straw-manning the real problems, and preventing any real discussion.

    It’s not really anything to do with being “woke”, it’s more that coming off a scandal he’d be under pressure to win games in order to prove he was worth the drama. In Houston he’s going to face 0 scrutiny. Nobody cares if the Rockets win 20 games next year.

  4. He didn’t sign with us because the organization has morals? Sounds like we dodged a fucking bullet

    Regardless of if this report is actually valid or not. The raptors twitter community is woke as f**k & quite frankly it’s wack.

    They don’t believe in awaiting for due process … I.e. Terrence Davis. They hit him with the stupid “redacted” term. No patience for how the legal system functions.

    The raptors post a video about international women’s day and some players mentioned that they appreciated women for being able to procreate and becoming mothers… I don’t know if you people didn’t know but MEN can’t have children.

    Don’t get me started how the fans are petty… need I say more about Goran? We gave that almost retiree +15 mins of additional fame.

    Going back to Ime Udoka… you don’t think him and his representatives would check Twitter for the pulse of the fan reaction about him? It was toxic at one point…

    Yeah Udoka was never getting signed anyways when Masai spent half his press conference bringing up character and values

    Notably un-woke city Houston, Texas. Unlike the proud city of morally upstanding citizen Mayor John Tory in the province with Woke Premier Doug “Wokeness” Ford.

    Literally would be brought up no matter wherever he goes but if this is what prevented us from having to be the team that welcomes his workplace power abusing ass from being our next head coach I’ll take it

    Some of you were/are way too comfortable giving him a second chance he, quite frankly, has not earned

    Show me one source that we actually offered him a JOB. There isn’t one. It’s all him talking to boost up his reputation. We didn’t want him

  9. The last Lowe Post they discussed this exact thing.

    Toronto media would have made things *very* uncomfortable.

  10. Massive_Secretary658

    Its true… they’re all a bunch of *prudes* lol

  11. No_Brilliant5888

    People who unironically use the term woke suck, and are usually a drag to talk to. Your comment made me laugh though, you’re cool.

    Ime Udoka: “I didn’t want to coach the Raptors because they’re directionless, have no cap space and have a low ceiling”

    Raptors fans: “He’s full of shit! He didn’t take the job because he’s a pervert and he wouldn’t be able to handle our progressive media!”

    Raptors fans will never change

    Honestly that makes sense for him to choose Houston with the deshaun Watson drama. If that’s the rep Toronto has, good for us

  14. autobots22

    Kinda sounds like you got jebaited by a baseless statement.

  15. Tiny_Pomegranate_225

    Honestly Udoka would get dissed daily in the dot how you cheating on Lisa man!!

  16. earlyearlgray

    Translation: he can get away with unsavoury behaviour in Houston more than Toronto

    Canada, on the whole, is much less liberal than the liberals in the US. We tend to be pretty moderate. Maybe our fanbase is more liberal because of demographics but I don’t see how Ime Udoka’s history won’t be brought up, even in Texas. Reporters will ask. They want the headlines. To say our media, team, or fanbase is too woke is a joke and a ridiculous reason to not sign here – if it was even a reason, which I don’t fully believe.

    Honestly, I couldn’t care less about who he slept with. As long as it was a consensual relationship, that is his business. Boston had a work policy to adhere to, which is more the reason he was fired. This isn’t earth shattering stuff here. I don’t think the media, who tend to be soft, would have made a big deal out of it.

    Doesn’t Toronto media basically do what MLSE says?

    Ask Kawhi how soft Toronto media can be 😂

  19. garynevilleisared

    I’m immediately reminded of that Nathan Downer interview if Mike Tyson lol

    This actually makes sense. Toronto/Canadian sports has very little give when it comes to bad behavior with sports figures. Off the top of my head:

    * Roberto Osuna
    * Yunel Escobar
    * Gregg Zaun
    * Don Cherry (took a while but they did it eventually)

    Any others I missed?
