[Alec Ausmus] Two commitments from Tim Connelly just now. He’s committed to staying in Minnesota and not taking the Wizards job. He is committed to their starting five, meaning Kat and Rudy (as of now) need to learn to play better together.

[Chris Hine] Tim Connelly, when asked about the Washington job: “I’m pretty committed to the Minnesota Timberwolves right now.” Said he’s excited about the foundation he and Finch are building.
If he left for Washington I’m sure there would be a class action lawsuit against him lol.
Good. Whatever your opinion on Gobert and the trade, the team will be set back MUCH further if TC leaves.
We would be stuck with more instability as yet ANOTHER POBO attempts to set their vision in place. TC made his move. He should get to see it through for longer than a year.
Surely this will quell the trade suggestion posts!
they definitely need stability. you cant keep cycling coaches and gm’s out of here and expect ant to be maximized
At least there’s some stability. They underachieved this year but given this year being one of the worst years in terms of overall health, there’s still room to grow. Also thought Finch did a great job on not letting guys get played off the floor.
Committed to staying o wow we’re so lucky! Has a GM ever actually dipped to another team after a single season in which they made significant roster adjustments? That’d be insane
Trading Rudy now would not make sense because you would get such little value.
I am open to trading KAT.
We need to figure out a way to make it all work. If we can get Gobert/KAT/McDaniels/ANT/Conley to play 60-70% of our regular season games and be consistent, no reason we can’t finish with the 4th seed.
The talent is there but we need these guys to want to play together and make it work. If they can’t figure it out next year, then I. Low up everything except ANT/McDaniels and go for the reset.
Letting Tim come in and trade a decade of picks only to leave one year after is frankly unacceptable. It’s not even an option.
Yeah feel like the consensus SHOULD be we’re a playoff team with them and UNLESS we get significant value which is unlikely currently we are wayyy better off holding for a year.
I don’t see Rudy having much value and Kats value is at an all time low.
We also have no idea how this team performs next year with Ants and McDaniels progression and a healthy roster.
The moves we should be discussing is how we retain Naz or replace what he brings.
Please take the wizards job
We want Gupta!
Guys, I have lived in DC for 9 years now. The Wizards franchise is a dumpster fire on many levels. They gave the max to a mid tier Bradley Beal type cause they are that desperate for talent here. It would be hard to see someone as experienced, established as TC to think it would be a wise move to take this GM job. The GM job here in DC is perfect for a young unknown guy working to get to where Connelly is today.
Also you people in Minnesota are strange. Minneapolis from a financial perspective, is one of the most lucrative attractive places in the United States. There are so many billion dollar entities that call Minnesota their home, it is quite insane. The insecurity you people project is bewildering.
As expected but probably almost definitely not the correct decision. Definitely a cut your losses situation
I don’t get why it’s always talk about KAT and Rudy. Ant is the one that needs to learn to play with Rudy.
I’ll give it til the trade deadline. As is tradition.
Like it or not, we are stuck with this square-peg into a round-hole philosophy. Just hope they can satisfy Edwards somehow. At best this team is looking at the 8th seed again with how this team is constructed.
Fire Thibs!
I know it’s frustrating for fans, but I think trading either KAT or Rudy this off-season would likely be a mistake. It’s not that I whole-heartedly believe in the pairing, but I think both of their values are someone down right now. Neither was healthy and the fit was understandably really clunky. That made both players look worse than they were. Give it an off-season and another year to have it grow, and then decide if it’s worthwhile to stick with it. I’d guess that both players will look better next year and have more value in a trade if the team feels like it’s time to move on.
I’ll never forget how good we were before that stomach virus hit. If we get back to that form and stay healthy we are a second round team, maybe more if Ant and Jaden keep up the good work.
