Simons and hero. No fucking thanks. Heat aren’t getting Dame with their lack of prospects

No more below average defenders in the back court pls. If we hit the reset I want to build the best defensive roster in the league

It’s always the big markets that ain’t got shit to trade. You never hear about like the thunder who actually have assets and could actually put a package together.

Not to mention this trade Dame stuff is so old. It’s not going to happen, everyone is committed to a Dame timeline so this is all just slop to begin with.

herro is the most annoying player in the league

Even if we entertained the idea of a Dame trade, we’d have to get something back that would be worthwhile. Herro doesn’t play defense. You might say “well, neither does Dame”, but Dame just finished a season where he scored 32ppg, 7 assists, and almost 5rpg. He looked better this year than he did in the last 2-3 years.

So aside from Herro, they’d have picks they can send us, however, they don’t have any picks for 2023 and have their own picks between 2024-2026. Considering that they would be teaming Dame up with Butler and Bam, their 1st round picks in the immediate future will be very, very late.

These aren’t lotto picks where we’ll get young prospects. We’d have to get omega lucky that a future star slips down into the late 1st round. It’s not unheard of, but also not very likely either. Giannis went 15th in 2013. Gobert went 27th that same year. Jerami Grant and Jokic were both 2nd round picks in 2014. Siakam went 27th in 2016. O.G. was 23rd in 2017. So it’s not impossible, but we’d have to have good enough scouting to find late pick talents and hope that they pan out.

So maybe we repackage those late picks in other trades to get something a bit higher, but at that point, we’ll be a bottom dwelling team for the next few seasons. It’ll be a total gut job, and there’s no guarantee that we’ll be able to rebuild again unless we get really lucky with one of those picks.

Unless Bam is included in that trade, which he wouldn’t be, Miami has very little they can offer us.

This trade wasn’t my idea or preference, appreciate all the downvotes though, a good reminder how salty this sub is, lol. Hope Cronin’s got some slick moves in his bag to improve us meaningfully this summer with Dame still here, but as a PSA, the fact that we’re not seeing lots of obvious great trade ideas for Dame out there means if he does gets moved everyone here should emotionally prepare themselves to hate the deal.

So Windhorst floats “I think Miami makes sense” and now it’s a story

  8. KeystoneJesus

In terms of contenders, Boston could make a much better offer.

I think it means that we’re officially shopping Dame and listening but it’s sad to see the rumors happening about Dame, he’s done so much for the franchise and I would be depressed if he left the Blazers.

To put it in Brian’s terms, the Blazers are looking to sign Jerami Grant to a roughly ~$150M deal.

🖕NOW WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT.🖕

This isn’t tea leaves, it’s trees. FOH Windy.

Whoever suggested this must be on some really good drugs. And they should share them

  12. _milf_cheek_clapper_

Lol prepare for riots downtown like you’ve never seen if the “brain trust” in blazer town pulls some dumb ish like this.

  13. BobLobLaw_Law2

WE DONT WANT MORE SHITTY DEFENDERS

I had a trde proposed on the heat sub Reddit. Herro/Martin/Jovic 3 first rounders 3 pick swaps for Dame. You could get more for Dame. But if you wanna do a solid by Dame and trade him to a preferred destination, and Heat are on his list it’s the best Heat can offer. Heat can give up Lowry on an expiring to get u off Bad contracts but blazers don’t have many of any bad contracts.
