  1. TL;DR: lotta weird stuff went on with Nick Nurse and his management of his coaching staff, Masai feels he gave Nurse a little too much freedom in that regard, changes will likely be made for Toronto’s next HC. Also some stuff about Bjorkgren and his role which makes me dislike him even more

  2. Seems like a lot of petty political stuff going on behind the scenes. It’s really unprofessional, this is a multi-billion dollar business, not high school. It’s crazy that a player or assistant coach would have to go through Bjorkgren to talk to Nurse, it’s literally Nurse’s job to talk to them.

Going to have some big names thrown around to end up with earl watson

  4. Nate better have left. Honestly get rid of Fred too, he was the most supportive of both Nate and Nick, especially when Nate was fired from Indiana. Seems like a red flag to me. Plus it’s clear he doesn’t like Scottie, the golden child remark is proof enough

    >Smith went on to say that, “There were people outside the organization — all with agendas, so things had to be taken with a grain of salt — who were promoting Watson (33-85 record as a head coach in Phoenix) as a mid-season replacement for Nurse.”

Gonna take things Thorpe says with a mound of salt at this point.

  6. Why did the Nate B. had to take 1/3 of the article to prove his point?

Yikes. Even the coaching staff has degraded over the years. I never want to see Nate Bjorkgren on the bench ever again. Bringing him back after his Pacers’ stint is definitely an example of Masai giving Nick too much freedom.
